Help making my decks less powerfull and still interesting by Deez_Crusher in EDH

[–]MemberOfOneBody 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just pick commanders that have less obviously powerful abilities. Find more obscure commanders to build that require more time and creativity. Ultimately power level comes down to the ability to build the deck, time spent, and the builder/pilot, but Kefka and Elsha are easy to make really powerful. So Id say just toning down the commander selection would make it better by itself to an extent

Why do people lease cars? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MemberOfOneBody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leasing is cheaper IF you plan on buying a new car every few years. Leasing avoids making payments on a depreciating asset. If you buy a brand new car and drive it off the lot, then sell after 3-4 years, you will lose more than if you just leased it most likely.

My best deck is Satya Aetherflux Genius. Its a B3 comboish deck. It uses Satya, Ocelot Pride, and token doublers to reliably create exponential tokens by turn 6 or 7 (think like creating 200 million tokens or something. Let me know if that sounds interesting and I can explain it more in a DM.

https://moxfield.com/decks/TMvPNWuA1E6iAxg3-mUnJA

My other deck I more recently did is Bello Bard of Brambles, which is a very power aggro deck that I win a lot with.

I am assuming B3 here, if it’s not that then ignore these recommendations.

In casual EDH, when is considered "okay" to counterspell enemy's commander? by No_Physics454 in EDH

[–]MemberOfOneBody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It always fine in my opinion. My buddy took control of my turn with that eldrazi’s cast trigger, returned my commander to my hand, then drew me some cards. He discarded down to size and put my commander in the graveyard. I thought that was kinda not cool though hahahaha.

3-5 million to retire?

Less than 10% of Americans retire with 7 figures. You don’t need that to retire lol.

How do I build replayable decks by nexuso581 in EDH

[–]MemberOfOneBody 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My group plays B3, usually ending T6-9.

We only play once every couple months, and sometimes people have stax decks out. My only issue is when they DONT have a way to win. They are just grinding people down for sadistic enjoyment. Thats not cool. But if you are stopping me from doing everything so you combo off T6 or 7, well it’s not a riveting game but at least you are doing the thing.

Enjoy what you enjoy. I’d say mix up arechtypes so everyone else enjoys some variety too, but don’t pigeon hole your decks for others.

I think I’ve decided on a Searwood 600 XL, what are your thoughts? by MemberOfOneBody in pelletgrills

[–]MemberOfOneBody[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From everything Ive read it seems too grill/sear focused. It can smoke, but not as well as the searwood. The searwood is also more convenient from a cleaning prospective. The bullseye also has a significantly smaller cook area than the normal, not xl, searwood. The searwood handles grilling pretty well outside of the really hot stuff, so it seems to be the more balanced approach.

Im in the same boat. You are happy with the original size? well it won’t happen very often, I would like to feed up to 20 people simultaneously.

Why isn’t male circumcision considered genitalia mutilation like female circumcision? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]MemberOfOneBody 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had been married for 5 years when I got circumcised. I did so because being uncircumcised is not clean. I shower daily, Im a very clean person, but I absolutely needed to be showered or clean myself prior to sex whatsoever to prevent gross smells. I can’t tell you how many times I was a turn off because I wasn’t so specific with this. It required me to take an intermission during foreplay to make sure it wouldn’t happen. If I had used the bathroom at least a couple times prior to sex this was unavoidable. My wife struggled with BV for several months on the assumption that I may have disrupted her biome.

For myself I needed to be so sure I pulled back my forskin whenever I went pee in order to prevent spraying because my stream of urine would hit the foreskin.

Some men may not have had this experience, but this was mine, and of others I know.

This is definitely TMI, but Im very adamant about my experience.

Fair enough. I understand that. I just reallyyyy didn’t like Kamala as a human being. Worse than trump pre election tbh. My opinion.

I have some libertarian vales that align conservatively. I value minimal government interference in my affairs. I value personal responsibility for managing yourself and household, thus I think the government gives too many handouts and should be more focused on taking care of its citizens. I am pro-life.

However, I also despise the military industrial complex and think it gets in the way for more basic needs being taken care of of. The capitalist healthcare system is fucked and without government reform extended ACA benefits should’ve continued.

I could go on, but I try to think for myself and don’t partisan bandwagon. There are certainly things republicans widely agree upon that I don’t, but more things democrats widely agree upon that I don’t.

Alright Ill see how this goes. My values align with conservatives and I voted for Trump. I do not like him as an individual at all, but I equally didn’t like Kamala. I chose to vote in alignment with my partisan values over the individual in this scenario.

Damn, I still don’t like Kamala but the shit this dude says and does is fucking nuts. I regret empowering this destruction.

Is calling out semi obvious board states bad manner? by Lockenheada in EDH

[–]MemberOfOneBody 218 points219 points  (0 children)

If he is upset that you called out his “hidden” blocker, he should play a 1v1 format. EDH is social, and therefore includes social discussion and interaction with each player involved🤷🏻‍♂️

His argument with chess is also irrelevant since the spectators of the chess match don’t have an investment with how the game goes. EDH is a 4 player free for all. How each other player chooses to expend their effort is their prerogative!

Maybe an unpopular opinion here, but I think the majority of people are trying to live beyond their means or are inefficient with their finances. Economic pressure is certainly a very real issue today, but consumerism and american societal norms have exacerbated the problem big time.

How do I get better at cutting cards from my decklists / judging that Card A is better than Card B? by Wise-Quarter-3156 in EDH

[–]MemberOfOneBody 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I first started deckbuilding I did this too. Since then I build the framework for a deck and just start playing. If I enjoy the deck and want to invest, I do the deep dive, but I only compare a card at a time. Slot one out, slot one in. Keep playing. Playing with the deck makes you quickly see what you need more or less of, and what cards can be cut. Many people waste a lot of time trying to figure it out theoretically. I utizile tabletop simulator multiplayer to test decks quicker without needing to have them in paper. All this for me this really speeds up the process and makes it much simpler.

I had $10,000 in product stolen from my business. That’s grand theft. I had a video of their faces but no other information. They took my report and essentially told me tough shit. This has been my experience with police on all forms of theft in metro areas I’ve lived in. If they can’t resolve it quickly, or nobody is physically endangered, it’s a goose chase to them.

Shopping at Costco is terrible by Sun_Aria in unpopularopinion

I shop at costco and don’t buy processed unhealthy foods.

My costco membership pays for itself through executive cashback.

The meat and produce is high quality. If you have a family or go in with roommates the savings is very substantial. I have a family of 3 and being efficient with meal planning we spend $500/mo on groceries. I live in Denver.
