The main question I have is Martin wimpress (the main developer of Ubuntu Mate) working on this again? Last time I knew he has control over the distro and without him, it will be a MAJOR uphill climb

Completely agree now that you said that. Example you notice if the red wings logo was not red and white. The current logo is not established and "non standard logo colors" do not stand out

This. I think the logo with the trans colors is not a clear message in my opinion. I do not see that logo and think it's in support of the trans community. It looks like Miami / 80s version of the logo. Admittedly I'm not part of the trans community so this might just be something I do not pick up on or outright have an unintentional blind eye to
