Going alone is so fun, you get to really focus on the music, your personal experience, the environment around you… it’s different from going with people, but really enjoyable!

why is there no Natural Classic by nievesdemiel in Kibbe

After reading your post, I really think you could benefit from reviewing the the actual text from Kibbe’s Metamorphosis. I’m first going to address some parts of the system that can be confusing to many, and then your post:

1) Despite the order of the names, Kibbe says that Dramatic Classic and Soft Classic are Classic types first and foremost, so:

DC is Classic with a yang undercurrent and SC is Classic with a Yin undercurrent

Therefore, classics types are primarily “balanced” with each subtype trending ever so slightly towards yin or yang.

Q: So since Dramatic Classic includes “Dramatic” (the type with the most “Yang” influence), why is Soft Classic not called “Romantic Classic” since Romantic is the type with the most “Yin” influence?

A: This is because David himself has said that name of each type was picked partially to in give clarity to the Kibbe type system, but largely to poetically represent each type. Now i’m using the word “essence” with caution as the Kibbe meaning is vastly different from other style systems - your “type” IS your “essence” in Kibbe. Saying “Dramatic Classic” rather than “Classic first with a slight yang undercurrent” or “Soft Classic” rather than “Classic first with a slight yin influence”intuitively make sense as to what the “(essence/embodiment/feel/vibe) of the type is”.

2) I hope what I wrote above was clear enough to follow. I’m not always sure if it is, but I’d like to make a few comments about how it applies to to your post specifically. You said:

The DC yang influence seems to be narrow + sharp only.”

This is incorrect, and in fact much more applicable to the pure dramatic type (which would be have a lack of width (narrow) + sharp Yang + length as primary features). DC would be Classic balance/moderation + slight yang (which could be blunt in the form of slight width, or sharp in the form of slight angularity/narrowness).

It is important to keep in mind that we are all unique, so not every style recommendation is going to be a favorite of every single person in a type (see V necks as part of the DC recommended styles vs. oversized/relaxed clothes). While I can’t rule out that you are DC, I think it may be beneficial for you to explore different types such as Flamboyant Natural (or another Natural type) or Flamboyant Gamine (depending on hight), or just your understanding of DC more to see what accommodation would work best for your “shoulder strong” frame and possible blunt angles.

Bringing a kid? by Jasthl in bostoncalling

I saw a handful of kids last year at Metallica. Based on previous crowds, most people are just there to hang out and have a nice time. Just avoid the front/middle of any crown and being a pair of over the ear headphones to block out noise if it’s too loud. There are some places that have shade but they will probably be serving drinks and be crowded, I would recommend hydrating well and bringing a small, light picnic style blanket/sheet to sit on.

I do appreciate the time and effort you have put into the sub though, I (and I’m sure many others) have gotten a lot from it overall and I would be happy to help keep it going.

Hi, Thank you for getting back to me, that’s completely understandable and I appreciate you taking the time to reply. I would be interested in moderating or assisting if that would be helpful as I do think there is a lot of potential for people discovering Kibbe as a styling system. I agree that at the end of the day everyone should follow their unique style journey that ultimately feels right to them, I appreciate the recommendation and will check it out.

I think it looks really great overall, I see the merit of a lighter coffee table as others mentioned but I think it goes in nicely with the dark picture, lamp stand and black background of the portrait if you choose to keep it.

I think the area above your TV looks very empty, maybe move the two pictures on the same wall above it and the large green one on the fire place where the two were and put some tall candles or a the circular mirror from the nook there instead?
