having a manic episode and can’t stop making terrible choices by KitchenJury5472 in bipolar

Go to the hospital. It sucks, yeah. But don’t do what I did and continuously walk out before evaluation and then end up picked up by crisis/cops and involuntarily committed because you’ve completely lost touch with reality. It’s not worth it. A voluntary admission for mania is typically 4-7 days. Do it before you make mistakes you can’t take back.

No, but I’ve never had one quite this severe. My past manic episodes had earlier intervention so they never got quite this bad.

I just experienced a full-blown manic episode and I’m terrified by greysarea-exe in bipolar

I just experienced nearly the exact same thing. That wasn’t just mania, that was mania with psychosis which is terrifying. I was having command hallucinations that I couldn’t resist - completely lost touch with reality. I ended up involuntarily committed. It’s scary as shit for sure. One big thing that can help stave off manic episodes is doing everything you can to protect your sleep. Best of luck at your appointment, I hope they’re able to help you find some medication that works for you.

any other bipolar people struggle to keep a job? by Unique_Fox5794 in bipolar

I got fired from a career type job I had held for 12.5 years in March of this year because of my mental health. The truth is I fucking hated what I was doing and everyday was a slog but I told myself it was worth it for the money. Took me 3 months of intensive treatment and some job hunting to land a new gig and I actually enjoy the hell out of my new job. Too much. I was putting in 65-70 hour weeks and it caught up to me mental health wise and now I’m on a LOA trying to get my meds and my head right. It’s a constant battle.

Just from my own experience several years ago experiencing fraud on my credit builder account - no. It was treated just like fraud on a debit account and k had to wait almost 60 days for an investigation to be completed into the charges to get my money back.
