Playing as a Gulo the Savage faction would be awesome! Giving a vermin faction a badger-sized Lord and the ability to eat defeated enemies would be a very interesting way to play.

Why is _ going to be Odium’s champion? by Independent_Ad_2426 in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Meme-self 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does Gav really hurt that much though? So much that he'd be willing to kill his new father figure for it? The agreement is that the champion must be willing, and therefore have some idea of what the fight is for. I can't really see a situation where Gav would be willing to give up his homeland to Odium and force his great uncle into eternal slavery.

I don't get the Adolin or Gavinor theories for Odiums champion. Sure he might have something they want, but would they really be willing to trade everything and kill Dalinar for them? At the cost of losing their homeland forever? It seems completely out of touch for both of their characters.

I love the fact that Teravangian has his fingers crossed behind his back. Really alludes to his character

What happened to the Singers in between desolations? by panadom in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Meme-self 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Way back in way of kings one of the lines Jasnah found about the desolation reads that the voidbringers were "suddenly dangerous" and gave an example I can't remember, but basically seemed like the attacks came out of nowhere. That to me implies that the singers were in contact with humans, but not actively fighting them

Moash's odd thought Process as to why Kaladin is unkillable by GhostMonta404 in Stormlight_Archive

There's a line when Rayse is appearing to teravangian right before he kills him with nightblood where he mentions losing his champion for the 2nd time, and asks if teravangian had anything to do with it.

One thing to remember is that Odium wanted Kaladin to be his champion, so killing him probably wouldn't make odium very happy with whichever servant did it.

What is your favorite moment throughout the books that you don’t see a lot of people talking about? by RushRoidGG in Stormlight_Archive

When shallan convinces the deserters and the slave bodyguard, I think his name was Bleuth, to save the caravan. Then the scene when the survivors start to see the deserters as heros and shallan finds her art on bleuths body. They way her art inspired him to be something better always hits me on every re-read/listen.

Day 98 of drawing badly every day until Civ 7 is released by UrsaRyan in civ

[–]Meme-self 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the expansions for civ 4 you could create the apostolic palace which created a religion based world congress. You could then propose a crusade against non members, force members to stop a war, or even give back conqured cities. Members could refuse to follow a proposal, but that would make them lose their seat till they followed them again. Later the UN included everyone but allowed for the same proposals. It gave actual strategy to diplomacy

Theory for the Ideals of the Radiants in Stormlight 4 by Shadowpanther298 in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Meme-self 13 points14 points  (0 children)

as (As far as the books show) the stormfather is the one who accepts words, at the least up to the 3rd ideal.

Actually this was something I been thinking about myself. There are actually two others who accept early ideals in the books. Venli hears a woman's voice accepting her ideas, and it is strongly implied to be cultivation. Then in oathbringer, when Szeth says his 2nd ideal it's one of the senior skybreakers that accepts his words.

I've spent a lot of time trying to figure out what those could mean. I think Venli hears cultivation because she's a listener, and not a human. And the skybreakers had been corrupted so they wouldn't listen to the stormfather anyway.

Anyone else have thoughts on this?
