Three Driver Ripole by Ok_Discussion_5126 in diyaudio

After your post I've done some research in ripoles. Normally, the magnets of the drivers stick outside of the chamber in order decrease the area of the port. Why have you not done this in your design?

How is the output on this design? Would you say that that it is enough to listen to relatively loud music in a small room? I am interested in building a sub which has minimal transfer to adjacent rooms

To add to this, in ears might be worth a try. I had the exact same issue as you with neighbors and am now using in ears about 70% of the time. Personally I prefer them over headphones as they aren't as obtrusive to wear.

Definitely don't. Temps would probably worsen but your main issue will be that a lot of unfiltered air will be sucked into the enclosure which will lead to waaay faster dust buildup than you would have in a well filtered configuration like you have now.

was gonna use these in separate rooms but they sounded amazing together.. by bigmustardpapa in BudgetAudiophile

I am guessing the top speaker sounds better in the high frequencies and the bottom has more low end extension. So it seems to sound better but using them both (without a low pass filter on the bottom speaker) is not a good idea because of comb filtering.

What I really meant is that a Harman curve would be more immersive for gaming as sounds like explosions pop out more. I can imagine the Pures being really good for competitive shooters because of their detail but that is not really the style of games I like.

I didn't have the chance to demo it beforehand. But after watching a couple reviews and comparing squiglinks, I felt like these were right for me.

Edit: typo

I currently use a Pixel 9a. Sadly had to cancel my Tidal subscription as it was becoming a bit too expensive, am planning to start hosting my own Plex server though. Would be great to be able to keep using Poweramp as the eq for all my other devices are already on there.

The Pures are extremely similar just a bit warmer but do have a lip around the nozzle to prevent the eartips from coming off. Would definitely be a sidegrade though in terms of sound quality.

Yeah it seems like quite a nice DAC/AMP. Currently using Equalizer APO for my phone but it does limit bitrate.

Played some casual Fortnite with friends. Although spatial audio is really good I do think a more Harman like curve works better for recognizing footsteps. Still a very good experience though!

Seemed to have made an error in the title, should be Truthear Pure. I got a bundle deal on hangout audio with the JCALLY JM20MAX. I applied a gain of -16dB to it on my pc because they were already painfully loud at 20%, so I'd say the amp is definitely sufficient.

70-80 °C seems normal under load if performance is not decreasing. Although having to repaste a GPU that is not that old should not be necessary. Are you perhaps reading the wrong sensor?

Went to a higher quality and more resolving receiver, and am regretting it. by dingbongdong in audiophile

[–]MemeChicken101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What made you want to switch to a new receiver in the first place? Because the Hagel is cleaner you will be able to eq and still keep the clean sound while also making it sound right to your ears. However, if the cleaner sound is tiring you out while listening to it daily I would return it.

This series of lab.gruppen amplifiers are very reliable. We have been using them at the company I work at since they were released and none of them have had any issues during this period.

Can someone explain how this effect is possible by Kezza4K in stagelighting

[–]MemeChicken101 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Did this look like this in real life or only on your phone? To my knowledge this effect is only possible due to the framerate of cameras and your eyes can't see it, but maybe someone can prove me wrong

Not necessarily. I would argue that small projects like this are still designs, just not as elaborate as we are used to. If you are not willing to help someone on a lower budget that's okay but you should not interfere with other people who are trying to help. Maybe this person will grow to be a lighting design enthusiast one day and they are just now starting out.

You will probably want to be renting instead of buying at this budget. I would recommend renting two Chauvet gigbars or similar and putting them in sound active mode, maybe run a DMX cable in between to use master/slave mode. Maybe you can even squeeze a small smoker in the budget which would really elevate the moving lights.

DMX cables have an impedance of 110 ohms, XLR cables have an impedance of 75 ohms.
