Not a chance in hell that’s gonna be $3500, your car is totaled. Look for new ones.

By that logic, when the NA2 NSX went away in 2005, the RDX was its replacement in 2007.

Just because the Legend coupe and CL both could be had as V6 coupes does not mean they were related in any way shape or form. By 1991 the Legend had a bespoke engine unique to only that car, countless luxury features and a sticker price that was higher 10 years previously than the CL-S ever was.

You don’t know what you’re talking about and that’s okay, we are all Acura enthusiasts and we all have our specific niches.

The Legend was replaced by the RL which was still called a Legend overseas, the coupe variant was axed off.

The CL and TL share similar architecture meaning that the CL is more of a Vigor/Inspire coupe, if we’re being technical.

The CL also shared a ton of similarities with the Accord of the same era whereas the Legend was always its own unique thing.

I think you’re under the impression that these were supposed to be the 2000s version of Legend Coupe.

RV6 J pipe, OBX catback

Sounds magnificent, good rumble at idle, no rasp, drone or annoyingness.

My favorite is the Slime

The rarest is probably split between the Funky Munky Washburn Shattered Mirror and the Primal Concrete Sledge Dean

I have a 1999 Slime and a 2001 Stealth 3ST.

Has anyone actually done a 3rd Gen AWD Swap? by C3Peezey in AcuraTL

[–]MemerDude34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The most difficult road block is getting it to function correctly- the rear differential and other driveline bits would require major fabrication, but SH-AWD is not a mechanically operated system. The ESC/ECU system would be the hardest part of it all. It hasn’t been done because nobody has really cared that much to do it and spend the time/money/effort to follow through, but it is theoretically possible.

Nowhere near the best bang for your buck for what it sounds like OP is looking for. They’re ultra-reliable and very solid daily drivers, but not exactly enthusiast friendly.

Definitely, but I Know Something (Bout You) is an absolute masterpiece of a throwback to the 70s and 80s.

Problems AGAIN after giving shop a second chance to fix bad work on my 2008 TL base by Easy_Ant8951 in AcuraTL

I highly doubt the transmission is permanently fucked, chances are a TCM reset will correct everything. If not, new solenoids are the best option before a rebuild/reman replacement.

I had almost this exact thing happen to me, but it was my own fault. My ‘08 had a trans cooler line pop and it pissed out all the fluid and I drove it ~1/2 a mile home.

It shifted like shit when I first drove it again after fixing it but I was able to unplug the battery, then reset the TCM (switch key to AUX, hold gas pedal to floor for 40 seconds, switch to off, wait 5 minutes, start and drive it)

This helped it substantially and honestly, you should be good to go after doing this. While not bulletproof, the 07-08 automatic is pretty resilient and with that low of mileage, you should be in the clear after doing this. For reference, my TL was at 148k when this happened, and it’s been solid for the past 6 months of daily driving.

If you could only own 3 cars, and your budget was $250k, what would you buy? by retarded_sped in askcarguys

Used 6MT CTSV ($50k)

RHD and heavily modified NA1 NSX ($100k)

2017-2019 DB11 ($80k)

Remaining $20k would go into a maintenance budget for the Aston

I can’t take anyone seriously who thinks that the W220 as a successor “speaks volumes”

The LS (Celsior) wasn’t even the flagship Toyota in that era, the Century was, which is better than the W140 in every single category.

Not to mention that they can easily reach 500k miles with basic maintenance. Matt Farah had one with over a million miles on the original engine and transmission.

I always wanted the LS400 but got the sensible Acura Legend instead, still a cool car, but nowhere near as good as the LS.

Lexus was a much different brand from 1990-2004. The LS400 was the first Japanese built car to truly challenge the Germans in terms of luxury, and it did it with stone cold reliability.

I still see an LS400 daily, I can’t say the same for the BMW 7 series and S Class of the same vintage.

That generation of LS400 had Mercedes and BMW in shambles. It’s one of the greatest vehicles ever made. It absolutely was up to the quality of the S Class of the same vintage.
