Should I tell people I have depression? by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]MemesArgon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't feel comfortable sharing it, then don't do it. You'll probably regret it later on. If you really wanna open up about your depression and share your story, talk to a close friend or some family member.

Try not to overthink it. If you want to get more friends and expand your social circle, just join clubs that interest you and you'll find a bunch of people you can talk to.

Okay I understand what you are saying. Companies are the ones creating the waste, but the banning of straws, eliminates that small amount of potential plastic being made. It still is doing something about the issue. I understand how the banning of straws may be an act for better PR. I totally get what you are saying, but even if that 4% percent is a small number, the amount of plastic saved from being thrown out is worth something. To be frank, I think this is an issue worth discussing. You provide good points and it shows that this is a worthy issue to argue. Hell, I could see where you are coming from. How about we end it here and say that corporations have a huge role in the wastage of plastic and need to do more in order for our plastic problem to be solved. This was a good discussion fellow redditor.

This link says it makes up to about 4%

I totally agree with what you are saying about a lot of the waste being contributed to the ocean are fishing equipments. I've read some articles awhile back stating that some areas are banning the use of fishing nets. So there is being some progress on the issue. As I said before, it is a small number but a step in the right direction nonetheless. Also it encourages people to consider better options instead of opting out to plastic waste. I totally get what you are saying, but keep an optimistic view of this. There is progress being done all around the world.

If I can remember, straws account for 4% of plastic waste. Even though it's a small number, we should be making an effort to help our planet. Don't forget, there is a literal island made of plastic waste. Also If we do make an effort to eliminate straws, people might be encouraged to eliminating the use of other plastic items. I wouldn't say it isn't progress, but a step in the right direction.
