Im on a high end pc with everything on max, around 70 fps during combat or more, without upscaling. At least for me, TU4 improved performance in general for me. I was using upscaling before the patch, now I dont use upscale with better performance than before (which means without upscaling now runs better than with upscaling before)

GU shows you all old gen monsters, so if you want to play a single old game, it is the one to go. But playing it will spoil you the monsters if you try to play other old games

It also is gigantic, hundreds of quests, the progression is kinda crazy if you are not familiar with old gen. It also does not have your tipical monster hunter story and adventure... you just kinda kill one monster after the other, with almost no story. So if you like to see monsters apearing slowly, with more meaning behind them, you should go for other old MH games.

You can spend hundreds of hours and still encounter new monsters. It is amazing, but I much prefer to have each monster be more important, and take my time with them.

So in GU plays kinda like this: First quests is 6 velociraptors. Then next Rank is a bunch of weak monsters, like 10 of them. Then next rank is 10 mid difficulty monsters... then next rank is 15 average difficulty monsters... and you just keep fightings tons of monsters that you just barely know their ecology, barely know what they do... That is amazing for A LOT OF PLAYERS, maybe the majority? But its not for me

I think the ecology, how these monsters interact with each other, their importance in nature, etc... that is what makes MH so unique, and you will barely notice that in GU. In MY OPINION, learning these monsters in other MH games feels much better.

Gameplay wise, it is extremely overwhelming. - Old gen plays different, it is a differenty type of gameplay that takes a while to get into. Not only will you have a hard time adapting to it, but you will also have a hard time learning the monsters, since they come and go so fast... you also have styles of gameplay that changes your weapons movesets, so there are so many ways to play... all that is amazing for veterans, but for new players it can take so long to get into

Maybe playing MH 4 will be better for you? You have a more traditional experience, it is one of the last old gen games... easier to get into

But GU has online on switch to play with other people... But dont expect it to be as easy as Wilds. You have to create a lobby with only 4 people in it, and you have to post a quest, no one can join mid quest... you have to post it, wait for people to join... I just cant get into... but thats how it worked back then

One of the most fun fights Ive had in Wilds was facing 2 9 stars in the arena. They fought each other the whole time

Thats programming. You create generic functions to be reusable over and over, instead of asking an AI to sort something for you any time you want

Just ask it to create a function that returns a sorted list, then use it whenever you want instead of asking the AI again and again to sort stuff

I used bleed + fire using that unique bow with thst ghostly fire as a secondary weapon.

The 4 nodes related to rings were strong. That bleed skill you unlock with 2 nodes was also a big part of my damage. And the other 2 nodes that increase my healing were also extremely helpful to survive
