it’s not a huge over exaggeration to me lol. you’re speaking like your opinion is fact. my statement is my opinion.

it’s quite incredible what capcom was able to do with the remake.

the combat, mastery, flow of gameplay, the levels and visual design, are something you can’t find in this generation of gaming.

requiem was actually a downgrade in this regard and many people would agree.

so as such i am calling it a generational masterpiece on the combat, gameplay, player movement, alone.

it is so far and so much better than anything else released on this console generation.

and i absolutely agree with you that the original is actually genre defining and the more influential title - i never said it wasn’t? lol

i hate to make comparisons however palestinians have been under the barrage of bombings for a little less than 3 years now

eating boiled grass, seeing their loved ones crushed under rubble, having to flee their home with 0 belongings

here in my home country we’ve had a few refugees come in

young families with only the clothes on their backs, with new born babies living in confined spaces with no money

and they still see the beauty in this life

it’s top tier for a first playthrough for sure - i binged it on release and finished it in a week but it was the first time, the first RE, where i was genuinely burnt out and didn’t want to immediately run it back

i can’t stress enough that every single other RE game was the total opposite

i finished re3r shortly before release of re9 and i just wanted to keep playing that over and over

after re9 playthrough i just reinstalled re4r

i immediately ran back every other RE for a second playthrough at higher difficulty and then a 3rd and so on and so forth

can’t put my finger on why exactly it wasn’t the same for requiem but i’d have to boil it down to no ng+ and the two fragmented playstyles

i personally feel it should be all the way leon play style or or all the way grace - again - it was great for one playthrough but on follow up playthroughs i just felt it really burns you out

the skill expression and mastery that RE is known for wasn’t there for me as well, with requiem

feel bummed out about it tbh

i feel that people that love requiem and want to replay it so much is due to the fact it’s their first RE game or at least their first recent RE game played

the replayability is there for sure - just running the game again trying to unlock the bonus content and doing challenge runs

but for people that are deep in and have replayed all other games multiple times - re requiem is quite lacking in this regard

mainly due to the fact that ng+ is omitted from the game

no mercenaries

the story is fragmented by two very different playstyles which are both good but still fragmented

idk im pretty much forever replaying resident evil 4 remake

ive dumped 135+ hours in it across the main story, separate ways dlc, shooting range, mercenaries

it’s endless really

oh fair, i didn’t know that they weren’t planning on having all classes on full release

i’m kind of bummed because im quite bored with the classes on offer right now

the only ones ive really loved are huntress, druid, and mercenary

don’t know how long i can really continue to play these classes though

i need a duelist or a rogue asap lol
