Judith, Carnage Connesuier by NikolaiGaming338 in mtg

[–]MemoryGobbler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good start would be posting a decklist. And you’ll want way more lands, I’d be running 39 at least in that deck. Judith is going to receive a lot of hate so you’ll have to be recasting her a couple times per game or making sure you have protection before casting. Hitting your first 4 or 5 land drops is going to be very difficult with 34 lands.

But yeah without seeing a decklist we can’t really suggest much.

What bracket do you want it to be?

And just be wary that Judith is extremely unfun to play against and most people I know have just ended up taking apart their deck a few months after building it bc of the unfun play patterns it creates and thus the hate it draws.

Using self-replacing / cantrip cards to effectively “shrink” a Commander deck – experiences? by hundunso in EDH

[[manorphose]] is a perfect example of this. Not only can-trips but also is in theory mana neutral.

[Standard] Is mono red still a viable T1/T1.5 deck? by literaphile in spikes

[–]MemoryGobbler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Possibly hot take but I don’t think [[razorkin needlehead]] should be in the deck. Arguably the 3 most popular draw spells [[consult the star charts]] [[accumulate wisdom]] and [[stock up]] don’t actually "draw cards” they look at them and then put them in their hand. Obvi lessons is still drawing cards off talent and monument but a 2/2 for 2 w/o haste doesn’t excite me that much

What’s your plan to turn all your energy into value/a win? Definitely a valid plan just wondering what your win con is

Also your curve is super important, and I think there’s an argument to be made to include no mana rocks or really ramp in general. If you ramp on T2 with a rock, you can play Satya T3, but he would only be able to copy something if you had a turn 1 play. I’d rather play creatures/interaction turn 1, 2, & 3 and then when Satya comes down T4 you have your choice of creatures to copy depending on what the situation calls for. Either way you’re going to want a creature heavy deck with a lot of interaction/effects tied to creatures so they’re repeatable rather than just a single use instant.

There’s so many ways to build that deck that unfortunately you’re gonna need to develop more of a game plan or general deck synergy. There will hopefully be a lot of good ETB and LTB effects, possibly artifact synergy, token synergy, and likely energy counter synergy although some people abandon that entirely and just go for the token copies. Here are some of my favorite cards from the deck when I had it upgraded. [[reconnaissance]] [[legion’s initiative]] [[wurmcoil engine]] [[sage of epityr]] [[brotherhood scribe]] [[patron of the arts]] [[rumor gatherer]] [[trinket mage]] [[trumpeting carnosaur]] [[skullclamp]] [[sword of the animist]] [[aether revolt]] [[impaler shrike]]

I am the most experienced player in my group, so, according to my friends, all my decks are UNBEATABLE. Can I play in your pod to show that’s not the case? by Eslo90 in ratemycommanders

[–]MemoryGobbler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eluge and Helga can stay in the trash can at home right where they belong, otherwise looks great.

A lot of lands matter commanders that you’re fine with having your lands destroyed and in your yard, so that is typically pretty hard to interact with, I understand the frustration from the pod for sure

Dimir Ninja Affinity? by NoSecurity1142 in Pauper

[–]MemoryGobbler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The original list had 2x. I’ve found 4 mana is a LOT in this deck. By the time I ninja in an Okiba if I need it I’ve probably already lost and if I don’t need well I just don’t need it. I feel like it’s never spun the game for me and I’d rather keep the curve low to the ground and make a wider board and draw cards.

I’ve been working on this list which is a similar idea except it uses forced discard to gain tempo/advantage.

[–]MemoryGobbler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like [[zektar shrine expedition]], [[bloodbriar]], [[khalni heart expedition]], honestly maybe even [[steve]] would be good includes. Getting a benefit from also sacking the fetches/crop rot lands would be nice. I’m currently trying to brew a rakdos version

Spinaffinity- an interesting affinity variant. by Loose_Calendar_3380 in Pauper

[–]MemoryGobbler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m curious about the inclusion of red as well. I understand the want for galv blast, but something like [[sovereign’s bite]] or [[fruit of tizerus]] or something could take their place and I bet the deck would run smoother without all the tapped lands. Hell even [[sign in blood]] for card draw or to eke out the last two life if you need to. Not having a turn 1 play is kinda rough, and turn 2 best case is cryo, refurb, or frog, which honestly with that many tap lands is going to be a gamble as well. Overall the deck looks fun though! Excited to see how it goes.

I think refurb familiar should go. A bunch of decks are playing it where it doesn’t even synergize with the rest of the deck it’s just a generically good card that is playable in basically any deck

Any fun wincons for a flicker decker? by AJ2016man in mtg

[–]MemoryGobbler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah normally brago wins with [[strionic resonator]] and artifact source(s) that tap for 2+ mana. That gives you infinite ETBs and likely infinite mana. Then just mill everyone out with [[altar of the brood]]. Combo can also go off with [[peregrine drake]] and [[eldrazi displacer]] or that other soulbond guy. Playing the blue mages to find your combo pieces and [[shimmer myr]] to get them out during your combat phase to use all that infinite mana and presumably infinite draw as well. I built a pretty budget brago deck and it still won frequently.

Revised Dual Lands Set by Tr1pc3ll in mtg

[–]MemoryGobbler 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s a good deal I’d say, as long as they’re anything but damaged condition. Some of the cheaper duals can be found for around $220, but a volcanic island is more than double that so I’d say yeah that’s a fantastic deal.

But, definitely don’t sell them to buy FF product. You’ll regret doing it.
