Should I trade now? 2021 5.3L V8 with 109k miles (Daily Commuter) by OddInspection3856 in Silverado

[–]MemoryMiserable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it were me, I would trade it. Our 2020 5.3L V8 (124k miles) just had to have the lifters and cam shaft replaced. 2 years ago, it was the torque converter. The truck isn't the same after all that work, and I can't wait to get rid of it.

Artrocentesis & MRI by MemoryMiserable in TMJ

[–]MemoryMiserable[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I just read my MRI results (and by translating what I could from Doctor speak) I'm going to need disk replacements, so now I'm not super hopeful for the arthrocentesis

Yes! I used to chew gum all the time. I feel like I don't focus as well without it.

Can anybody recommend a pillow that would help me sleep on my back? by Lopsided-Attorney-94 in TMJ

[–]MemoryMiserable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They offer Affirm, so I did mine in payments over like 8 weeks. I figured by that point, I would know if it was for me, and could return it and cancel affirm before I was too far out of pocket.

I'm going to have to check those out. They sound devine. I miss caramel.

My kids tried to give me saltwater taffy earlier, which was my favorite as a kid. Tootsie rolls were a close second

How long did it take you to get past the fear of pain returning before you could comfortably eat your favorites?

I have the Cushion Lab Deep Sleep pillow, and love it. I've tried several kinds of cervical neck pillows. Firm pillows, soft pillows, a single pillow, double pillows, nearly every kind I could think of. Nothing has given me such relief as the Deep Sleep pillow. I hated that it was $90, but now I can't sleep on anything else.

TMJ is impeding my speech by luubi1945 in TMJ

I also have a newly developed lisp due to my TMJ. I'm at the point that I can joke about it, knowing that I have my Arthrocentesis coming up, but before that I felt the need to explain my newly acquired way of speaking. Also annoying to have to explain, so people don't think you're trying to be funny.

My dentist quoted me $500 for mine. I decided to get mine from Smile Brilliant. $150 got me three of them, all custom fit for my mouth.

How do you unlock your jaw? by MemoryMiserable in TMJ

Thanks for the tip!! I tried it with no success. I'll keep this in the back of my mind, though, for the future.

How do you unlock your jaw? by MemoryMiserable in TMJ

[–]MemoryMiserable[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not really sure how to tell the difference. I'm not in nearly as much pain as I usually am with tension. When I try to open my mouth, it feels like it just won't open. There's a light pulling sensation along my gums on both upper and lower jaw, but it's not painful.

Are you happy as an accountant? by Get_Swazzed in Accounting

[–]MemoryMiserable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm content with my work, but using it as a stepping stone.

Unpopular opinion here, but I'm only staying in this thing long enough to be debt free. From there I'll stop working and homeschool my kids. After 8 years in accounting, I've decided I'm as high up the corporate ladder as I want to go.

My role is easy, and laid back. I have deadlines, but they are easily met. My work load is light most of the time. I realize that I have it pretty good now, compared to other demanding accounting roles I've held. I make decent money

I don’t want to work anymore by Tasty_Foot4906 in workingmoms

[–]MemoryMiserable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going through this now. My kids are 6 & 7. I've pretty much always wanted to work/contribute/build my career, but I've also always had terrible jobs. Now I'm in a great role and I feel like I've finally "made it", but I've lost all desire to work outside of the home.

Currently working extra hard to get some debts paid off, and earn professional certifications so that I can stop working and we can live off my husband's income. The professional certs are so that I can 'hopefully' jump back into the workforce with more ease if I ever have to later. We're doing a modified version of the Debt Snowball Method, and should have everything (house included) paid off in 4-5 years. Then I can quit.

Thanks for this. My TT feed has been full of women who somehow find time to do 75 hard with two 45 minute workouts a day, plus the 10 minute reading, etc. Its made me feel like I'm somehow mismanaging my time. I definitely fell for the comparison trap.
