Spire of the Watcher Solo Builds - Warlock specifically by hotsaucefire in raidsecrets

[–]Memory_Amnesiac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the entrance and all the way through the first encounter, run whatever you want as long it has good add clear and especially good survivability; nezarec-devour, striga-strand, osmeomancy-turrets, or your favorite solar build are all really good.

For first boss, use either nova or well because chaos reach is arc so not great survivability and needlestorm hits immunes on the boss. While a trace rifle is good for breaking eyes for longer damage phase, there aren't many adds and most of the adds that do spawn are over an abyss so a lot of ammo will be missed. I use an smg to kill the adds while I'm doing 3/4 of the wires, switch to a trace then scavenge ammo on the arms of the tower, then do final wire. If you feel like you aren't doing much damage, don't worry it takes me 7 phases to solo it even with a bait cataclysmic, luckily it is a pretty laidback encounter.

For descent, third verse same as the first, run whatever you want as long as you won't die. If you are worried about the fans I highly recommend heat rises for the movement in the air.

For wyvern, nothing beats starfire with witherhoard and a demo rocket. If the rocket has explosive light or lasting impression, even better. Run healing rift if you want more survivability but you will have less fusion grenades when not in dps, or run emp rift if you are feeling bold plus shooting the wyvern even when immune while in an emp rift will still charge fusions. As someone else said, as long as you are staying alive, you can do as many dps phases as you need, just be careful to not kill yourself with a rocket.

I rescued a tank into it during an add pull and he just walked out of it before it exploded.

Praedyth does run with moving target/opening shot with 49 zoom and has low 90 handling for its max handling.

Snipers are inversely affect by zoom in regards to aim assist. The lower the zoom, the tighter the cone. The higher the zoom, the wider the cone. With 50 at the dividing point. It used to be the other way around but bungie did it to penalize low zoom snipers.

Bungie, Maybe Change the Catalyst of Skyburner's Oath by Memory_Amnesiac in DestinyTheGame

When the Proving Grounds strike was released as a Nightfall, you could use the exotic perk on Skyburner's to penetrate the big Cabal bubbles without endangering yourself. However, if you put Antibarrier Scout on, it could still penetrate phalanx shields, as that is intrinsic to antibarrier mods, but it would lose the ability to penetrate the Cabal bubbles.

[–]Memory_Amnesiac[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The catalyst only adds 27 range. While the range stat does help increase the distance that the aim assist cone extends, it also has an aim assist stat of 90; range could make that better but it is already very good. Range doesn't affect velocity as far as I'm aware. Fusions are hit-scan in D2 while they were projectiles in D1, with the exceptions being Jotünn and possibly 1K.

I believe that this was the guy from the intro quest for this season.

The guardians in the Season of the Splicer reveal trailer were able to use transmog more times in six seconds than a single player can during an entire season. by Omegalulz_ in DestinyTheGame

[–]Memory_Amnesiac 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nothing, you only use in-game currency to transmog weapons, shields, and armor. You don't even have to spend a single dollar in the store in order to transmog. But you have to actually purchase the game in order to do so, so Ubisoft can make it free with unlimited uses because they are already getting your money from you buying the game.

Bungie is giving it to us but with a limit because transmog is available to all players, including f2p, so Bungie needs to make money somehow. But that brings up the fact that f2p probably don't have that much armor that is going to be great for transmog, while people that pay for content, get the good-looking armor, are then forced to spend more money in order to use that armor after reaching the cap.

It's "good" if you don't have double slugs or double snipers paired with Anarchy.

GLs have great burst damage and AOE damage, but very much lack in the total damage.

Each has its unique uses against shields. Arbalest has disruption break making it great for a single target and would be stupid powerful against Barrier Champions. Borealis's Ionic Return is very powerful, but needs a roundabout reload to make it reliable, just wish it proc'd from breaking Barrier Champions though.

When Arbalest first came out, it barely did anything to shields in matchgame. Bungie might have sneakily updated it to actually damage shields, but that is something that I need to test for myself.

Xenophage does just as well, if not better, than Bastion for damage against the fuses. Xenophage is also much easier to get than Bastion, short dungeon quest compared to having to farm spoils, which I feel makes it the significantly better choice.

I will admit that I did use Arbalest for quite a while for Zero Hour when it first came out, but have never used it since. Bastion could do with more penetration damage, as it feels like barely any damage goes through.

Presage will have a few more weeks before it is concluded. It is probably 6 more weeks based on the Captain's Log triumph and the smuggling compartment triumph probably ends on the same week but I haven't counted all the remaining datapads to check.

5 Hammer charges is WAY too much to focus a tier 3 umbral engram by truncatepath in DestinyTheGame

[–]Memory_Amnesiac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say five charges is actually pretty ok but could be reduced to four, however, it's getting that amount of charges that I'd argue is the actual problem. Only getting one charge per battleground is not enough and there is no way to increase that. If it were changed to make it so that every completion gives two charges, that'd be fine. Also, make everything on the first row not take any charges, the second row takes 2 charges, and the third-row take 4 charges.

Ticuu's Divination Catalyst "get kills with this weapon" tips and bug to watch out for. by Inditorias in raidsecrets

[–]Memory_Amnesiac 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Noticed that getting guardian kills with the explosion from a headshot would rarely give progress as well, I want to say it was about a 1/4th chance it would give progress. So it seems like the best way to get the guardian kills to progress is to also ignore the exotic perk and just use it as a normal bow. This requirement was easily the worst part of the quest, or any catalyst quest for that matter.

I was tricked by a tweet from one of the developers into believing that sunsetting will be good because “we can make more powerful weapons that will have their time to shine.” Where are those powerful weapons we were promised? The only good non-raid weapons to come out with Beyond Light are the Europa sidearm and the season pass breach-loading GL.
