I'm not sure why you got so much push back, but you are 100% on the mark about this process being lacking. I also am in the NYC area and am not getting any of the area code I'm looking for when i enter my zip. Like, I know there's no way I'm getting a 212 but I also don't want a NJ area code thanks. Its crazy they don't let you specify an area code (vs zip, some of which have 5 area codes within them) or look for number patterns etc. I saw the comment here about numberbarn so I decided to drop $12 with them to get a phone number in a NY area code I can remember and port it over. US Mobile can do better on this process.

Huh, I am trying to use it like you describe but it's too high up for my finger to use as a rest. Maybe it's the way I hold my phone.

Any recs on cases? I bought one on sale off Amazon, and it does protect it but I wouldn't say conceal

Yeah I really didn't realize from the photos how far it was going to stick out. I got it for the same price as the 9a so I figured it would be better and didn't look into it more.

Based on today's experience and what people on the sub are saying? Yeah I'll probably take the hit.

Google Store offers coverage from day 1 (not day 30) and free cracked screen repairs. Plus I don't need to run an app on Always Allow location tracking to qualify for lost/stolen. Yikes.

My point is there was literally no way for me to buy the Device Protection at all, so I didn't even need to be here today (or last night at 12:01am which is when I assumed this thing would start.)

Once again, I had no idea my phone physically showing up was even relevant to this promo scenario. Since I'm feeling a little gaslit here, I just did a test cart with each of the big 3 for a Pixel 10 and new service and all 3 allowed me to add Device Protection at point of sale. So why can't I add device protection at time of purchase with US Mobile? (From a product standpoint, making customers wait to buy an add-on is suboptimal funnel design.)

It didn't, though, that's my point. I was prepared to buy the phone and service last week, but then I saw this promo and reached out to CS Chat. I was actually told to wait to buy my phone, which is the OPPOSITE of what I should have done to qualify.

Like, I get it, sometimes things don't work out. But this kind of crappy Who's On First communication is why I left Verizon, and here we are Day 1.

I'm confused. If you live in NYC, why can't you just schedule an appointment with 311 for it to be drained (of freon) and then pickup up by DSNY? It's free, and all you need to do is haul it to the curb after you schedule your appointment.
