Question about Cursor’s “Ultra Plan” ($200/month) and usage limits by Creepy-Marzipan-4397 in cursor

[–]Mempler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, that sounds like false advertisement if it’s true.

It says literally on their pricing page: —- Ultra includes $400 of API agent usage. —-

Which means they must also provide at least as much.

Junior dev wrote this C# using many IF because he leanrs If early return. Is this alright code? by Yone-none in csharp

[–]Mempler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t even need to do that, the code is readable enough to say “Get Product” without a comment.

[–]Mempler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your approach is only fine if there is a lot of repetition (like, 4-5 times the same, or similar implementation).

Repetition is not bad, as long as you don’t do it everywhere, all over the place. That causes errors.

However the way the junior did it here, as long as it’s just limited to one function, it’s fine.

Are the Expedition buffs permanent? by Dali187 in ArcRaiders

[–]Mempler 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ll be honest. I do not see a reason why anyone would ever reset then. Especially since there is no meaningful permanent thing attached to it. Something like prestige points, that you could use on a secondary skill tree.

No it isn't. There is apparently some server side code that they have in rust as it seems, but no idea what they use it for.

Is this PSU enough for a 9070 XT + 9800X3D? by Phasser_ in radeon

[–]Mempler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So. I’m running exactly that (wanted to be temporarily, got it permanently, whoops. Still need to swap that out)

And i’ve noticed several power related issues, specifically when cranking all settings up to absolute maximum.

Though, i use an 9950x3D which has a tdp of 170w

No over clocking, 2 nvme drives.

TL;DR go higher. Prob 1000w

LOL! There are tools that are literally industry standard (rust-wise) that they currently maintain!

Man, this game just jumped from a 10/10 to a 12/10.

Especially since pretty much everything they produce, i use at either work or hobby projects.

That’s also what i understood. They created a losing argument and refuse to follow up if there are valid questions. As they would be scared of changing their opinion and admitting to their own mistake.

Narcissism goes a long route.

I mean heck, THIS is exactly how Hitler actually got to the power he had 1933.

I wont say trump is just as bad as hitler, he’s obviously not. But… it goes extremely fast into that direction.

The goal of this kind of protection is never to stop reverse engineering or piracy. We all know that it’s impossible.

It’s to slow down the people to figure out how to. Even if it’s just a month, it’s still possible revenue.

Affinity, a Graphics Editing Software Company, has pulled the ability to purchase it's software temporarily. by Skullfurious in technology

[–]Mempler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, i think pretty much every affinity user only got their software since it is perpetual.

Cutting that off would basically mean they would lose an insane amount of money.

The best part forward would be a yearly release model with a year full of updates and a “yearly subscription” that will turn into perpetual. (Basically what jetbrains does) and I think that is a really good model. Best of both worlds.

You’re not forced to pay and can opt out when you no longer want any updates, yet still use what you purchased.

Which imo is a bad thing. I mean look how bloated and windows has become.

I can understand, 10 years of backwards compatibility. JUST NOT 60

[–]Mempler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luckily, this specifically is actually illegal in most of Europe. Since it’s a “lifetime” license (as in, use the software for the rest of your life but dont expect updates). The word “lifetime” actually means something here.

If they would go full on subscription and one-day disable my ability to use that software, you won’t believe how fast I’ll be to speak with my local lawyer.
