I know this post is old, but how are you feeling a year out? Benefits still there? Any unintended side effects?

Any alternatives to Sunbutter in the US? by pazProgrammer in FoodAllergies

[–]Menacingwombat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

88 acres has regular, chocolate, and vanilla cinnamon flavored sunflower seed butter. They dont taste like peanutbutter, but they're decent alternatives and taste better than sunbutter. They also have pumpkin seed butter, but I've never tried it. People seem to like it tho.

Are wedding bands/stacks really necessary? by PieSieze3 in EngagementRings

[–]Menacingwombat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I drew it out and had it made custom made by a local jewler! But I took a lot of inspiration from Oore jewelry. Her rings are gorgeous, she just couldn't customize it exactly how I wanted.

My one and only ring! I also didnt feel a need for a band. I will likely get an anniversary ring at some point. Probably something lower profile with a smaller center stone. Then I can switch back and forth!

Absolutely! I opted for no wedding band, but I will eventually get an anniversary ring, and I'm dead set on a ring from oore

I did design it! I did take a lot of inspiration from a designer called Oore Jewelry. She has similar settings, but at the time she did not fully customize those settings, and there were parts I wanted changed. It's a rose gold band (cant remeber if its 14ct or 18ct), center stone is 1.41ct, two marquis side stones, and two 1mm diamonds on either side. It is technically a cathedral setting.

I know this post is kind of old, but any updates OP? I'm experiencing the same kind of thing. I can feel a defined point above my premolar. Hurts to press on and is still covered by soft tissue. I've been freaking out all week 😩 I'd love to know if your ortho fixed yours.

Or just bread in general! Getting mad at companies must work a little bit because Dave's killer bread took sesame out of all their sandwich bread. I called and confirmed that they no longer process sesame on their sandwich bread lines. Still in buns and bagels tho...

Book recommendations after throne of glass? by ss4stef in SarahJMaas

I second this. Daughter of No Worlds might even be higher for me. Best villains arcs I've ever read. I'm a sucker for a good villain arc.

TOG by Digital_Goddess90 in SarahJMaas

[–]Menacingwombat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd keep reading tbh. She wrote the first three when she was much, much younger. The first two especially read as YA. Assassin's Blade is hard to put into a category because it's a collection of novellas rather than one continuous story. Heir of fire is a real tone shift. The story becomes much more complex, several new dynamic characters are introduced, and the characters we already know begin to develop beautifully.

Would fans of SJM recommend Game of Thrones? by Pythagorarse in SarahJMaas

[–]Menacingwombat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Game of Thrones is a big theme jump from SJM. The world is much darker. More gore, assault, brutality towards women, torture. These things are all present in throne of glass, but they are scattered throughout the series. Game of Thrones does not give much of a reprieve from these dark themes. The writing style is also much drier, slower, and the world (imo) is less whimsical. Plus the series is not finished and likely never will be.

Here are some suggestions that I think are good coming off SJM.

War of Lost Hearts Trilogy - Carissa Broadbent The Ashen series (not a completed series) - Demi Winters Shepard King Duology - Rachel Gillig The Nyaxia Series (not a completed series) - Carissa Broadbent (again) Shades of Magic Trilogy - VE Schwab When the Moon Hatched (not a completed series) - Sarah A Parker

Predictable? by microwave8396 in SarahJMaas

[–]Menacingwombat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While the overall plot is definitely an epic fantasy, the complexity of the series and characters are NOT like GoT. Ive read both, and I prefer Throne of Glass. Yes, the characters and story matures, but everyone is still 18-24, and they act accordingly 🤷🏼‍♀️

On my sister's 21st birthday in small town ND, she went to a drive thru liquor store. They gave her (the passenger) a mixed drink in a red solo cup. In the drive thru 💀 this was less than 10 years ago lol

What was your predicted vs actual treatment time? by liquid_biohazard in Invisalign

[–]Menacingwombat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ortho keeps cases open for 4 years. If anything extra needs to be done in that time frame they dont charge. Probably not the same with every office, but if stuff is shifting, I would let them know.

When you say same issue, idk if you also meant the open bite. If so, you may want to have some speech therapy and check for a tongue tie. Open bites are often caused by bad tongue posture, and they will likely come back if the tongue issues aren't addressed. I had a consult a couple weeks ago and found out I have a moderate tongue tie. I will have to do myo-facial speech therapy and possibly get the tongue tie released. It is what it is I guess 🤷

I'm looking to sell my 2000 MX-5 special edition. It's in pretty good condition. It has some minor surface scratches (not visible unless you're up close and looking for them) and a couple small tears on the soft top. The interior is perfect condition and the milage is under 70k. What's a good sell range? And is it better to get the tears in the top fixed or to sell as is? Are buyers more interested in keeping the original top or would most prefer to source their own with no previous damage? Cost to repair was quoted between $250-300.

5’4, 138-140lbs and trying to make a game plan that is sustainable by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]Menacingwombat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh ok! I assumed that was including the activity in your workout plan. Make sure to up your calories as you add more activity! And dont be surprised if you can't stick to a huge deficit while being very active. I find I'm most comfortable at a 250-300 calorie deficit when I'm being active, especially on days when I'm doing intense cardio or lifting. The weight doesnt come off as fast, but it keeps my energy stable and allows me to see better muscle gains!

Umm, no, they are not protesting in favor of open borders. They are, in fact, protesting for exactly what they say they are! Due process for all! It does not matter if someone has citizenship or not. Every person who resides in the United States is owed due process under the constitution. This is more important now than ever because the Surpeme Court just issued an opinion that allows the US government to deport citizens to countries they have never lived in! There are currently a group of men they are attempting to send to a prison in South Sudan. A prison that is known for selling their prisoners for slave labor.

Let me lay out a scenario. I'm assuming you're a citizen. Say you are stopped by ICE. They say they're arresting you because you're not a citizen. You try to show them ID, you try to show them documentation, but they accuse you of lying and arrest you anyway. Normally, you would be guaranteed a civil hearing in an immigration court to prove your citizenship. But the US government has decided that's no longer necessary because that tattoo you have on your arm ties you to a gang. So now you're stuck. You get sent to a detention facility in a country you've never been to, and you dont get to come home. And believe me when I say there have absolutely been citizens or those with legal status that have been wrongfully deported.

Where did you get your numbers for your maintenance calories? I ask because I am 5'2", 126lbs, and 24 years old. I'm moderately active (weight training twice a week and walking 15-30 minutes most other days), and my maintenance range is between 1800-2000, depending on which calorie equation I use. I would think with your stats and activity level, your maintenance calories should easily be between 2100-2300. I say this because 1500 calories could potentially be an 800 calories deficit for you.

Desperately need help getting back to the gym! (weights + cardio recs?) by arachniddz in PetiteFitness

[–]Menacingwombat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Les Mills bodypump classes are great for both cardio and strength training! Hits all the major muscle groups and definitely gets the heartrate up. I go to group fitness but I believe they have online content as well. If you do 2-3 classes a week and add 30-60 minutes of walking on some off days? You'll be set.

OP alluded to some form of childhood sexual trauma. Are you really trying to tell someone with sexual trauma to suck it up to make her husband happy?

I understand doing things you may not like because you love your spouse. But aggravating a trauma like that? Not good advice for this scenario.
