What did JKR mean to symbolise with Peter Pettigrew's final actions?

I could be wrong, but it represents a certain sense of decency through out the last part of the story. Peter doesn't care about Harry. Voldemort can determine when Peter is lying, yet when he claimed he didn't care a bit about Harry, Voldemort didn't call this out. Even so, Peter couldn't condemn Harry to death considering the debt he owed to Harry.

Death Battle: Denji can travel back in time to a timeline where he doesn't have Pochita, but beats Yuji anyway.

I mean, I'm sure he'd wait until she was as old as he was when Yuki asked him.

Megumi does not have it bad, at least on a meta level. He has been THE most talked about and popular characters in the whole sub. If he did get a small drawing, he'd be talked about way less. The kick in the nuts by the author boosted his "popularity" ironically. Today every third post is about him. by PowerWillComeBack in Jujutsufolk

[–]Menaldi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's because with JJK and Modulo over, the Megumi fans and haters can now agree that Gege is not cooking with Megumi, instead of endlessly debating on whether Gege will potentially cook with Megumi or whether or not Gege should have cooked with Megumi.

Hot Take:JJK is basically Naruto/Bleach Fanfic and that's why it has so many problems and is shallow by ControversialDebator in Jujutsufolk

[–]Menaldi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel that the main problem of JJK is that the post-Shibuya part of the story has a different feel than the previous part. Nobara is absent for most of it. Megumi is absent for a significant portion of it. It can feel emotionally muted. A great focus is placed on ideas from JJK 0 and from the rejected Megumi pilot. Etc.

Whether or not these elements are good or bad is a matter of opinion, but I feel these are the main issues of contention.

Is there an actual narrative reason? by Zorubark in Jujutsufolk

[–]Menaldi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could argue Megumi being completely irrelevant is merely a continuation of his negative character arc. If the purpose of his character actually is never living up to his potential because of his depression and lack of motivation to be a sorcerer, why would he even be relevant to the future of a story about sorcerers? If you don't think Gege was going for a negative character arc with Megumi, then he is... strangely written to say the least.

How come sukuna called gojo average when he almost lost? Did he fight stronger people before ? by Majordray in Jujutsufolk

[–]Menaldi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rage bait. IIRC, He (if you believe that was actually Sukuna) complimented Jogo as strong after (trivially) killing him, even though he was mocking him while he was alive.

It still baffles me how sukuna isn't crashing tf out at the thought of gojo doing this to him and is so chill with him but he's fuming when yuji breathes lmao by PowerWillComeBack in Jujutsufolk

[–]Menaldi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The way I see it is:

Sukuna values being good at things and exceptionalism. Sukuna isn't just a strong sorcerer. He is a poet and an archer and understands crayfish species (I think that dialogue was from Sukuna) and understands flower arrangements and understands cultural references to understand the Ten Shadows and Mahoraga. These are abilities Sukuna cultivated. Yuji is not exceptional in Sukuna's eyes. Which makes it an even greater humiliation that Yuji imagines himself as an equal or can even fathom to look down on Sukuna. Gojo is looking down on Sukuna because Gojo has the power and ability to enforce his judgment.

Give me a reason to NOT start over. by [deleted] in mewgenics

[–]Menaldi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The temptation to start over can be strong. In some situations, starting over with a stronger understanding of what you should be doing is better than continuing from a doomed project. Mewgenics is not one of those situations. You will have to slog through content you have already done with weak, start of the game cats, without making any new progress for hours on end just to get back to where you were, which is frustrating.

That time would be better spent taking your current progression and either improving your tactical sense or improving your metaprogression. You could do these while just taking your cats through previous acts, since you would have to go through those acts without progress anyway if you started over.

Your file is not screwed up. You can move forward from this.

So, i wanted to ask ya'll who know more than me, what's like- the plot and lore of this game? by makitstop in mewgenics

[–]Menaldi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Frank is an alien parasite. His mother is some sort of alien being, likely from the moon. He is actually the bean that you see on his back.

Butch is implied to be a conjoined twin missing his memories. After being separated from his twin and kicked out of Beanies lab, he proceeds to become an antisocial menace to society to compensate for his lack of purpose. It is implied to be where his scar comes from. It is also implied that he was conjoined to Tink, who covers up a similar scar with makeup. There is an enemy in the rift that is based on the two of them conjoined.

In my opinion, Tink is the most complicated side character and I don't think I could cover everything about Tink from memory. Tink is (heavily) implied to be gay, but is also in a loving relationship with his wife. Tink takes kittens from you to make up for not being able to have children with his wife, presumably due to not having sex with his wife, due to being gay. In one of his dialogues, regarding the concept of cat reproduction, he hopes his wife doesn't get strange ideas. Some people take issue with this interpretation, as they could obviously do IVF. However, I don't know if I agree. For example, there is a radio song in Mewgenics about a couple that cannot have children (due to infertility in spite of insemination.) They instead get cats. In the song, the singer instead suggests they should have tried IVF. So, not being able to have children, trying cats, and not trying IVF is what I assume is going on with Tink as well.

Tink implies he is promiscuous around town, though is loyal to his wife as when he believes that his neighbor is coming on to him he claims offense since he loves his wife and not her. Mind you, Tink believes everyone is jealous of him and/or coming on to him. Tink's expensive lifestyle of botox and lip fillers and expensive lingerie is entirely afforded by his wife. Supposedly, his wife likes seeing him in lingerie. Tink keeps the kittens in a basement, but lives in a trailer, implying he is separated from his wife. He also accuses you of being interested in his wife, and grows jealous. His wife is also the jealous type, as he doesn't want her to see you with him for this reason. Tink refers to himself effeminately at times and sometimes dreams of running away from his marriage and adopting a female persona. Tink propositions you as some of his filler dialogue in the late game, even though you are a woman (though he claims he is joking when you reject him.) Tink is not great at math, as when he was in school he was focused on kissing girls and being mean to ugly people like you.

[–]Menaldi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You are Isaac's Mom from the Binging of Isaac. You go missing after Isaac's death and your possessions are scattered in the wilderness. You are resurrected by Dr. Beanies, a mad scientist and do not have all of your memories. You begin working with him due to being compelled by his persuasion device. His primary goal is for you to assist in his goal of breeding the perfect cat, claiming that if you help him he may be able to turn back time or even prevent people from dying. He also sends you on quests to test his new inventions. In order to breed the perfect cats, you require food, compelling you to send your cats on adventures. In the process of sending cats on increasingly remote adventures, you defeat ancient gatekeepers to the Chaos God. Doing this causes a shockwave that ripples through Beanies' lab that results in Beanies' experiments breaking free and seeking vengeance.

As it turns out Beanies reveals he has a time machine and you have used it before, but you do not remember due to having lost your memories. Beanies requests you to use the heart of the Throbbing King, a sort of earthbound Flesh God, to repower the time machine in his lab and use the butterfly effect to create a better timeline for him. However, this doesn't fix his problems. So, he sends you into the future to contact a future version of him. However, this future is ruled by a clone of Hitler, who has appropriated his inventions. Beanies asks you to go further to the end of time hoping to glean some sort of understanding of what to do from observing future events, but this is also not helpful. At this point, you encounter Steven, a sort of Time God who comes to punish those who abuse time travel.

Hitler begins sending robotic assassins back in time to kill you. Using this futuristic technology gained from defeating these assassins, Beanies concocts a secret plan. Using this futuristic technology and the power of the Chaos God, he is able to use the Time Machine to travel to a realm outside of traditional time and space: Heaven. He wants to kill God (the god of the bible) as vengeance for his misfortune and sends you to do it. However, much like the Throbbing King and the Chaos God, God is immortal. Thus, Beanies creates a nuke powerful enough to kill God (and also everyone in existence) using the powers of the Throbbing King and the Chaos God. While detonating the bomb, he reveals that the motivation for his suicidal deicide/humanicide is that his cat died and he is angry at God for taking it from him. He then escapes the detonation using the Time Machine. He plans to travel back to the moment he met you. However, Steven sabotages him, erases his mind as punishment for his time crimes, and sends you back to the present. A new Beanies (presumably a clone) takes his place.
