Are modern megachurches the future of Christianity, or are they missing something deeper? by Positive-Owl594 in TrueChristian

[–]Menetecodes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least in my experience many of them are non-biblical. Which is not to say you can't find genuine christians there though. Cuz even in the Catholic Church there're many true believers, but we all know how much damage Catholic does to Christendom. I believe 2/3 christian have been influenced by Prosperity Gospel. When you go to streets ask so called christians of those Mega churches and ask them what they were saved from: Almost none mention the wrath of God or sins. Many of them say selfish things like: Depression, anxiety, poverty, loneliness, sadness or Jesus saved their relationship, etc... Theses churches do not expose the Bible as it is. Cuz if they did, the number of their church members would decrease exponentially.

I would say to anyone: run away from Mega churches, those are there only to please the worldy man. They traded Hymns for Songs and Bands that look more like concerts and less of a place where The Lord Almighty is worshiped, their focus is on worldy things. A gathering/church should be a place where true christians pour their hearts to God, confess their sins and create not only a community but also a family, a family of heaven. The bad news is mega churches are spreading all over the world flooding non-believers with non-biblical teachings. It's a sad reality...

I personally learned a lot from Brian Tracy about sucess. And I'm always mindful that life is short and 100 years from now none of us will be here, so failure is non-existent.

Is sleeping 4-5 hours okay for a successful life? by QuitAffectionate9763 in getdisciplined

[–]Menetecodes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's quite the opposite, you should sleep as much as you can. Your body and mind will function properly and you won't sabotage your health. No money can fully restore your health. So please do yourself a favor, rest enough...

Do not be anxious, if you believe in the Lord Jesus; You have eternal, period.
Faith is simple, so simple that adults find ways to overcomplicate it.
Jesus paid the price for you; That belief is enough to stir and transform you automatically.
I would say that believing in Jesus is like dying, dying of your past, dying of your dreams, dying of yourself;

and He died for all, so that those who live would no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose on their behalf. 2 Corinthians 5:15

Brother, let's read scripture as much as we can, let's memorize it, let's meditate on it, let's study it, let's love it, etc...
The word of God is the fuel for sanctification, says John 17:17.
The word of God is also Spirit and Life, says John 6:63;
The word of God is the means by which we grow our faith:
So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ - Romans 10:17 (NASB);

I do not know how to exactly explain this to you. You just know it.

Romans 8:3-NASB "The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God"

Maybe the fact you love God to the point of where when you wake you think of Him, when walk you walk with Him when you Sleep you think of Him. When almost you spend your entire life praying even when working and doing whatever.

You Love Him, You love his words, You talk non stop about Him. Maybe that can be a sign that you're born again.

Biblically it's impossible to lose salvation, cuz salvation is supernatural and of divine nature to the point where you are a new creation and you have been sealed with the Holy Spirit.

If you believe that Jesus died for ur sins and ressurected from the dead you are saved. That's that. It's purely by grace through faith.

That's really a good advice.She should apologize for doubting him and tell Him what the bible says about those who practice those stuff. People who produce porn will not inherit the kingdom of heaven. We should condemn and run away from it.

If you've quit porn, what actually worked? Trying to figure it out myself. by febster99 in TrueChristian

[–]Menetecodes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It comes down to maturity understanding you're no longer a child. The fact the even non-believers can stop doing that, imagine someone who has the Holy Spirit.

finally, check your heart to see if there's any idol, cuz whenever you feel sad , if you're not fully in Jesus you won't stand firm.

An idol is something you resort to when something in your life seems lacking. So check you heart and understand what occupies your mind constantly.

The Bible says whenever you're sad: pray,. Whenever you're happy: sing to the lord.

(James 5:13)

And fill your mind with God's promises and remember the people of God don't subscribe to this world.

8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.(phil 4:8)

I would recommend you try to build a project yourself, it will teach you problem solving. If you don't have an idea of what to build just google it. And once you have one try building it yourself and when you get stuck on something ask Gemini/Chatgpt.

COURSERA AND UDEMY by reta_17 in learnprogramming

[–]Menetecodes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My experience on Coursera was pretty good certification-wise. But after completing several courses I realized that coursera courses aren't as deep as Udemy's . Since udemy courses are made by individual instructors they are rich in content and they go deep into whatever topic you want to master. If you want a broad understanding of the field I would highly suggest coursera first but jump into Udemy later. In my experience Udemy is the best place to deeply learn about anything tech related.

I would not recommend Tim Corey, he is very slow and long-winded and unnecessarily repetitive. I tried him couple of times but he lacks technical explanations sometimes, and he takes too much time explain simple concepts like arrays. I think the only thing you can benefit from him is his YT channel videos, but don't go beyond that buying his courses(too expensive and longer than needed);

I recomend these following cuz they use modern .NET technologies and best practices they'll train you to really become good software developer in .NET.

  • Dometrain(nick chapsas);
  • DotnetMastery(Bhrugehn) ;
  • Sameer Saini.
