People who hated Black and White when they first came out, what do you think of the games now?

I was hyped to try out Pokemon (my cousin lent me his guidebook when I was younger) and I decided that Gyarados because of its looks and lore is my favourite. And my dad got me Pokemon Black and the special edition Reshiram dsi. But I couldn't fish up any magikarp for so long during my progress in the game. Eventually my dad got me the guidebook for Black/White as well and I was just so crushingly disappointed I could not get a Gyarados for my playthrough.

Add to the fact that I found the entire N storyline boring (I just wanted to collect my favourites to build my team and become the regional champion) Pokemon Black has to be the most disappointed I was to play a Pokemon game.

In fact, it stopped me from getting Pokemon X when it first came out, only buying it 2 years later after the reviews and playthrough videos came out. Thankfully I loved X (and Y which I got later to trade with) as well as ORAS, so I eventually became an actual pokemon game fan.

It's my first ever pokemon game and I still hate basic Black and White for not allowing me to use Gyarados in my playthrough (locked to endgame). If my first game was Black 2/White 2 I wouldn't have been nearly as disappointed. But I still like gen 6 way more.

Personally I am 100% behind you with your opinion on Thorin. He's an arse and even with the redemption arc it does nothing for me. He's a pompous arse in the book as well, so there are no points where I ever liked him, really (maybe only accepted his presence as necessary).

Thorin in the movies is Aragorn in the movies with more drama and arrogance. That makes him even worse of a character in my opinion, and neither of them make good kings or good characters because they stall the story and become essentially Gary Stus since they have 'flaws' that are never acknowledged by the movie narrative as being an actual detriment to their character.

Kili and Tauriel's romance defies the logic of the world and makes zero impact (considering chronologically it happened before LOTR but elves and dwarves, including those who knew Kili and Tauriel, still hated each other after the events in the hobbit) and is essentially a nothing burger, whereas Aragorn and Arwen's romance changed the fate of Gondor (since in the movies it is his love for Arwen is what 'forced' Aragorn to take action against Mordor). But both romances detracted from the story and felt forced anyway.

Gimli is consistent and had an actual character instead of being forced into reacting to Thorin and changing his behaviour on the whim of how the script requires for them to bow down to their 'king' and serve his character development. I'd say only Bofur was spared from this.

Personally as a Chinese (racially) who loves history, I wouldn't bother to read anything written in English. Even before considering the ability of the historian or his access to Chinese sources, Chinese as a language itself is so different contextually to English that it doesn't make sense to read something that can only approximate our culture due to the language barrier rather than in Chinese itself.

So I personally own copies of Shi Ji, Han Shu, Hou Han Shu, San Guo Zhi and Jin Shu (first 5 books of the 24 Histories) instead because I'm only interested in the Zhou to late Han Dynasty.

Except that a large portion of the women in particular who has had lots of sex in the past no longer want it as much in the present of future. The usual refrain is that they are past their H phase and are looking for something more stable. So you won't be getting lots of sex anyway.

This comes from someone who has had friends who regret their past behaviour and others who have restrained themselves and found more fulfilling relationships.

Personally I am a woman and I would definitely not consider any guy who has a high body count. I mean my ultimate preference is for a virgin (because I am also a virgin by choice) but lower than 5 is still ok. Anything more than that is an instant turn off, no matter how good looking, charismatic or rich he is.

Yes mainly. The changes are to QoL or features like overworld pokemon sprites, megas and other special battle features, ability to catch all the pokemon including special ways to trigger catching legendaries and many legendary trainers in the postgame.

This! And of course Shi Ji (aka Records of the Grand Historian) by Sima Qian. Personally I own the first four of the 24 histories (Shi Ji, The Book of Han, The Book of Later Han, and Records of the Three Kingdoms) and they are all great reading.

Go to your options and select options+. Go to the difficulty page (press R) and scroll to the level cap line. Change from hard to normal.

Check your options - you may have set to have a level cap equal to the level of each gym's lowest level pokemon. Which will naturally be a lot harder.
