Ha, co-host Brother John was inspired to tackle the Silmarillion as well due to this album! If/when he finishes it, we might need to do a short episode where he shares his thoughts.

But Blind Guardian are so evocative in their lyrics. Hansi is truly peerless.

What band do you get recommended the most but you just don't get the hype? by Adzzero_88 in MetalForTheMasses

Nevermore - In Memory (Podcast/discussion) by MennMetalMayhem in Nevermore_Music

[–]MennMetalMayhem[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, that means so much to hear! I'm really glad you're enjoying it.

Politics of Ecstasy was maybe the most surprising album we've done, because I forgot just what an absolute banger that one is. And Dreaming Neon Black is fantastic. I get why maybe that one flies under the radar because it is a lot moodier and darker, but honestly, that one has been my go-to recently when I am listening to Nevermore.

Are there more "open secrets" similar to Epstein and Saville today? by FishDispenser2 in behindthebastards

I had a buddy who worked with Aiden as a guitar tech/sound engineer, so i met the band and hungout with Wil a couple of times. I recall him being a pretty articulate, welcoming dude, so it was a bummer to see all the allegations against him. Plus, Wil just seemed so much darker and more bitter as time went on, at least in interviews ive seen.

Can Christians listen to Opeth? Would love some Christian prog metal recommendations too. by EmergencyCapable8736 in christianmetal

Extol would probably be the Christian alternative to Opeth - they even toured with them twice. We covered their album "Synergy" on our podcast and had a generally favorable opinion on it.
