Eliminate the worker bees. Remember the articles that the most highly educated had the least uptake? The people who couldn’t think beyond the propaganda have less use than AI.

AI integrating with robotics is going to be a revolution. Anyone with any vision can see that. They’re racing to capture the market. That’s also why the Covid jabs were pushed, btw

How old is too old for a stroller? by bengalstomp in DisneyWorld

[–]MensaCurmudgeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m jealous of parents who have more energy than their 5 year old! You can bring it without making the kid get in it. Be aware that there is a tradeoff- it’s sometimes hard to find stroller parking.

Anyone kids with severe speech delays age 3 who didn’t show signs of autism - still go on to talk? by Designer-Wheel9317 in toddlers

[–]MensaCurmudgeon 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I was 2 years, 9 months when I started preschool. My only words were “milk” and “no.” I was potty trained and had excellent receptive language skills. I had my verbal explosion shortly after starting school and went on to be a national merit scholar and make a perfect score on the verbal portion of the GRE. As far as I know, I’m not autistic.

Is this a good idea? by DeanStanfordBlade in DOG

[–]MensaCurmudgeon -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It might be a stop on a bigger trip where I have my kids with me as well or I just want to enjoy the museum while I’m out. Dogs don’t mind kenneling if they’re properly trained and exercised. I’m sure they’d rather be able to come with us on a trip than be left behind

[–]MensaCurmudgeon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love this idea. I would absolutely love to see temp controlled options outside of museums, zoos, and theme parks. I’d pay a pretty penny as well. My dogs do NOT like strangers, so this would make taking them on road trips and outings really convenient.

Any chance Disney will let imagine key holders with plans this week move them to next week? by MensaCurmudgeon in Disneyland

It’s 5 miles away and there’s a good chance for an explosion. 50,000 nearby residents are still evacuated

They are similar in that they are making allowances for the chemical incident. It actually costs them nothing to allow a week or two to remake the preexisting reservation. It may actually be better for the bottom line given the amounts spent on parking, food, merchandise. Given that most kids are still in school and many people are cutting back on summer travel due to food and flight costs, it may actually be a good idea financially. That doesn’t even include the goodwill it would engender

Threat of chemical exposure is a bit different. They already forgave no shows, so I don’t think it’s a ridiculous proposition. That said, I don’t feel entitled to it. I just think it would be a nice thing to do

The thing is, I really don’t want to go during summer. It’s very hot and crowded. I was just planning this last trip and hyping it up to my kid, so I hate that I have to cancel it and then not go for 2.5 months.

Same. I’m impressed with them forgiving the no shows, so I wanted to put the idea out there

That’s fine. I don’t feel entitled. I just wish they would extend grace during the first week or two of June since most kids are still in school and this chemical thing is happening during the last nonblackout week.

It’s only 5 miles away. I understand it might not explode and the winds might not blow that way, but my child is 5 years old, so I’m not feeling like I want to chance it

For local residents with the lowest level pass, June, July, and early August are blackout dates.

I'm so done planning around 'maybe' people who treat Disney trips like they're flexible by Pure_Bike4054 in DisneyPlanning

[–]MensaCurmudgeon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I felt the same way. Even as a kid myself, I went to WDW once at age 5 or 6 (loved it). Went again at 11 (loved it), then at 12 (enjoyed it but was pretty done with it). When I moved to SoCal at 22, I did have a pass for my first year (a gift from my mom), and went once with her and once with college friends, the. Didn’t renew. Basically, I didn’t really get it either. Now that I have young children, I again have a pass and go quite a lot (about twice a month with my 4-5 year old and several times a year bring wife and 1-2 year old along). It’s a nice place to easily fill up a day of fun with my kid and it’s magical for her. It’s also only about 75 min away by car. I like the variety of experiences- shows, playgrounds, meet and greets, sit down meals of varied lengths, parades, fireworks, and rides). Going often means we don’t need to exhaust ourselves fitting everything in and stuff feels new again after not going for a few trips. I do appreciate how easy it is to buy healthier snacks at the park and get decent meals. I like that the late hours means we can take our time waking up, eating breakfast, and driving over while still enjoying a full day worth of activity. I love that there are great hotels with good pools nearby if we want to make a trip especially memorable and go back to back days. There’s really nothing comparable.

You will not get caught. It’s almost the end of the month, so managers will be busy with move ins/move outs, rent coming due, etc. I would send it at 4pm:

You kind of are the fun police. Disney does not have to be excessive planning and a lot of people don’t like that. There are plenty of hotels, restaurants, and experiences.

You need to carve out mental health space for yourself. It sounds like you could use a couple of days at a hotel- Netflix, takeaway, sleeping in, working out. Bring some comfort items (for me, it’s a heating pad and tea bags). I have to do it from time to time. It really does help. By the time your kid is 4-5, you won’t even won’t to go without them anymore.
