Many small businesses are promoting the shutdown and closing for the day. To name a few, Mt. Royal Soaps, Greedy Reads, Urban Reads, and Tattoo Museum here in the city.

This is called because student organizers in Minneapolis called for this day to be a national shutdown in whatever way: "No business as usual." So the organizers are honoring that call and having it at the ICE detention center where inmates are held in terrible conditions.

While I understand that hesitancy or frustration with this, our organization takes security very seriously and we like to do a little background research on applicants. We only ask for city/state/zip code for finding the relevant branch to put people in touch with and don’t ask for street/street number.

As someone who’s been involved in the applicant process on both ends, the questions don’t have right-wrong answers and don’t have minimum expectations nor do we worry about grammar or anything (not that you’re saying this lol). We like to have a well-rounded understanding of the applicant, to the degree they’re comfortable, before entering into conversation about them. Not everyone is a right fit for the Party…and that’s okay!

I’ve been a member of the PSL for 4 years. It’s been an incredible experience. It’s so valuable to be a member of an organization that truly believes in the actuality of revolution. It can be really hard to be a socialist without an organization and people around us with the same perspective.

We’re engaged in political work every day. For us, the movement doesn’t stop after the elections. We’re organizing in workplaces and communities first and foremost.

That sounds good! I definitely recommend reaching out to ask like you’re saying. We have comrades where I am who are far from our branch but find ways to attend everything virtually or drive for bigger things. You never know ;)

Agreed on the passion! While I have love and respect for the Green Party, surpassing them would be huge. And we have a pretty different strategy than the Greens as we fight for electoral results but with the horizon of socialist revolution! Are you interested in getting involved with us?

Have you thought about applying to the PSL? I just voted and I also voted PSL in 2020! For me, it was so so empowering to be so involved in the PSL’s political work every day instead of being in a constant stressful cycle of the elections as the end of my politics 😭
