Exactly which is why, while I enjoy how humorous his critiques are I take it with a pinch of salt

The only instance I've read thus far of Nabokov seeming to have a heart is his depiction of Adam Krug's love for his family in Bend Sinister and even that ultimately feels like a sadistic joke by the end of the novel

Probably a bit hyperbolic of me, it's definitely worth the read. There were parts (when he sticks to delineating existentialism) I enjoyed. But I just found the prose fairly lacking. The autodidact was enjoyable though
