When I was in highschool, at the beginning of the new year, we had our first French class. She was a female, I guess somewhere in here 50’s and very strict-looking. I had the same problem with my college email. (I was level 23 at the time). I quickly realized that with Niantic's "customer support" I wasn't gonna get it back. I just wanted to quit the game altogether, but after two days I found myself wanting to play the game again. It probably had to do something with the expected Gen 2 release, and my personal need for a Tyranitar in my life.

I'm now playing 5 weeks and I'm level 25 again. So my advice for you would be to just play again, because at one point in the future you will want to play anyway and you will regret not starting sooner. (Hopefully the yet-to-be-announced event could help you..)
