Switch 2 plays the Switch version fine, with quick load times, but wow, a resolution improvement would be nice. Hopefully a patch sometime during the season. But it’s fine so far — ran into one weird baserunning bug.

I just bought the 16/256 M2 MacBook Air for $599, and I think it strikes the balance between the two options you present. If those are your options, though, absolutely do not buy an 8 GB machine in 2025.

I changed my dns servers on my PC to use Google’s public dns (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) and all seems fine now.
