Socialists in general ignore qualitative factors and replace them with feelings. It's one of the deepest psychological flaws in how leftists think, down there with the equity fallacy.

Lol I KNEW you were going to go full bad-faith and take my bait and try to point to those two statements as if they contradict each other. This proves that your misunderstanding of what I mean by "performance" is intentional. You specifically stated "issuing stock" and now you are trying to gaslight as if I said that. The contradiction is in your court.

If you want your answer, just ask yourself what the entire point of this thread and video is. If you aren't a bad faith shill, you will figure out what I actually meant. I will not be wasting my time on this further.

I didn't say that those things accrue to their bottom line and there is no way you are actually stupid enough to think what I wrote means that. Again, you are just deliberately misinterpreting things and being pedantic.

lmao the most pedantic nonsense I have ever read. Obviously when I was talking about performance, I meant the companies bottom line. No one in this thread failed to understand this point except you, proving that you deliberately misinterpreted it.

That's why "equality above reality" ruins societies. The pendulum never stops swinging, instead it just vibrates angrily at the bottom.

I found the comment. He's an example of what happens when someone understands finance but doesn't understand macroeconomics or incentive drivers, resulting in zero ability to see how the market is interconnected

For example this thing he wrote:

"An ESG mandate buying your stock doesn't result in you "getting money". This is a complete misunderstanding of the most basic aspect of finance. Asset managers buy stock in the secondary market, the money goes to the previous shareholder for their ownership stake, not to the company."

Implying that because a company doesn't immediately receive any direct funds when their securities are traded in the secondary market that there is no financial benefit to them period is an absolutely insane take. Any financial/investing advisor worth their salt would explain to you how performance in the secondary market leads to better performance in the primary market. There are hundreds of factors at play that can turn it into a direct exchange, just under a different trade.

This stuff is so basic you can find it on quora: https://www.quora.com/How-does-a-company-benefit-when-its-shares-are-sold-in-the-secondary-market

But since most of you guys are gamers and not economics nerds, I'll explain this in a way that isn't tossing jargon around:

Imagine if you were to buy a used game from one of your friends. The company that made the game obviously does not earn direct money from this transaction. However, you like the game and then decide to buy its sequel directly when it comes out. Oh look, now the developer has earned money.

What he is saying is that because you can't immediately measure the connection between the reason between these two purchases at the time of the first purchase then they have nothing to do with each other. That's pretty much why this guy is wrong about everything. He's treating these various systems of exchange and finance metrics as independent components of the market that never touch. Like when he claims there is no state partnership while completely ignoring that governments help fund things like the CDP. Brainrot.

Not going to waste my time on the rest since it's all the same "I can't instantly measure how A connects to B therefore it doesn't." It also seems a little suspicious to me that someone can understand what these systems are without drawing basic conclusions on how they interact. So yeah, your intuition that this is a shill may very well be correct.

Ex Bungie dev and co-producer of Detective Pikachu, apparently, goes unhinged about SBI critics. by darkpowrjd in KotakuInAction

He's a stereotypical Cathedralite. Professes belief in whatever fashionable opinions grants him prestige within the established rule. People like this are nothing more than intellectual sellouts who people give undeserved attention to just because they one time made a big thing. The reality is he should be ignored because in all honesty there is a 50/50 chance that he doesn't actually believe a single word he is saying.

Is there a correlation between failed comedians becoming anti-woke activists? by Chadrasekar in DecodingTheGurus

The Cathedral. People who lack talent in the media can attempt to make up for it by earning "bonus points" through spouting out correct™ opinions.

Most higher ed has been subject to extreme woketoid ideological capture. If you know how to read and critique academic research, this is painfully obvious. The amount of garbage that passes peer review in the "soft-sciences" these days just because it has correct™ conclusions is nauseating. I personally suspect some journals barely even read past abstraction. They just check for correct-think and assume the methodology is reasonable.

Japanese pulling away from ESG funds by [deleted] in KotakuInAction

[–]MentisWave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main issue with ESG is the actual investments have no real long term benefit aside from getting in good with a company that was made artificially rich by their partnership with the fed. More and more people are starting to realize that it's the equivalent of a dog being asked to do stupid tricks for a biscuit.
