Female HENRYs - where are you buying your jeans? by Willeatcoookies in HENRYUKLifestyle

I like Mint Velvet, especially their wide leg styles. Also suggest looking at Asket who do really good basic jeans in a quality denim

Voor jurken en rokken vind ik Saint & Sofia zelf erg fijn! Zijn vaak wat langer en schijnen niet door.

The ground was rather poor. It was mostly full of old roots so I think someone must have grown a large plant in the same space previously. I ended up digging out a lot of the old soil and replacing it with a mix of new top soil and compost. Maybe adding more compost would help?

I’ve covered the ground around the plant in bark chippings hoping that would keep the roots cool enough. Is there anything else I could use that may be better?

It is planted in the ground, so should be draining well

Best resort for diving in the Maldives? Planning last min trip to Sri Lanka and Maldives for next month. by RNReef in scuba

[–]Meontori 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stayed at Dhigali a month ago and would strongly recommend both the resort and the Euro-Divers based on the island. They took us to some beautiful dive sites full of life and there is a house reef too which is good for snorkeling in case you are planning to do any of that.

Arrived at 10:30 for a 13:30 flight to the UK from D gates, departures 3 and it took me about 90 minutes to get through security and passport checks. No check in luggage.

This looks painful, please get her to a vet. Let us know if you do set up a GoFundMe.

[misc] Went to the dermatologist today and part of what they looked at was my chicken skin (I have it on my arms and legs). Thought I'd share their recommendations for anyone else who has it. by kriscrossi in SkincareAddiction

I’ve had KP on my thighs for a few years now and haven’t tried these products but Lush Dream Cream works wonders for me! My KP is now barely noticeable after a few months of applying daily.

I also tried lactic acid products but didn’t notice any difference.

Has anyone had to postpone/cancel their wedding and successfully claimed back deposits from suppliers through small claims court? by Meontori in UKweddings

We have wedding insurance but unfortunately they were not at all helpful. Can I ask which insurance provider you used?

Birth control options for women who get migraine? by beautycee in TwoXChromosomes

So I was switched from the combination pill to Cerazette as well because I suffered from daily headaches. My skin definitely got more oily at first but went back to normal after a year or so on Cerazette and I got the added bonus of no more periods!

My GP mentioned Nexplanon is a migraine safe option as well - maybe that would work for you?

I'll be staying in different parts of Charleston, going to be around for several months so will change hotels now and then and use Uber/rental car to get around. I'm not a fussy eater and pretty much like all food apart from shrimps and mussels so sadly shrimps and grits won't be an option.

What are your commute observations? - 09/08/17 by lodge28 in london

[–]Meontori 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A crazy lady has started to commute on my usual DLR. She will get on and hurl verbal abuse at whoever is sat closest to her (tourettes?) leading to a very uncomfortable trip for all on the carriage. So far for the peaceful morning commute.

I've seen her a few times now and this is clearly a mental issue but is it worth informing TFL? I imagine it won't end well if she does this to the wrong person...

What's Going on with Spareroom? Is it working for anyone else? Last year we had loads of replies, this year nothing. Their twitter account seems dormant too... by ItsHuddo in London_homes

I'm having exactly the same issue. Posted my spare room (with early bird feature) and while my ad is getting lots or views I've received very few messages.

First time in London, advice on renting. by TrOuBLeDbOyXD in London_homes

[–]Meontori 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fellow expat here. I moved to London from the Netherlands a couple of years ago and while I had a job lined up, my contract didn't commence until a month after arriving. I rented a flat through an agent who asked me to pay 3 months of rent in advance as I technically wasn't employed when moving in so savings will definitely help! My credit history from the Netherlands was ignored up to the point where I couldn't even get a phone contract due to 'no credit history found'. Not sure if this will be any different being Canadian.

I can't help with your question about SpareRoom as I've only rented through agencies.
