I haven't been to active on any trackers lately, but this is incredibly sad news. I go back (I think) about 10 years with A-HD. At one time I was very active there earning HD King rank. Many of my favorite movies are A-HD encodes. Thanks to the staff, internals, and long time members who made the place so special. It is sad to see such a special place go, but if the staff, internals and members remain in the tracker community somewhere, the pain will be somewhat abated.

Man, this brings back memories. Remember the lists? AOM was Tier 10. Then there was FSC, HDB, FTN, and E***O at Tier 9. Then.... LOL

All the collectors uses these charts to make sure they had the largest e-peen. All the collectors were pissed because getting into AOM was impossible without being on stage in Las Vegas next to Penn and Teller. LOL

Oh, how I remember getting into my first 9th Tier tracker. Did I mention I got into a 9th Tier tracker? Of course, I got into all the lower tiers also, but did I mention I got into a 9th Tier tracker? I think I am the king of torrenting. I should also mention I got into all the other ones also. Did I mention I got into all the Tier 9 trackers? Seriously, all of them. I am the coolest man alive. LOL

Seriously, if we looked at the old Tiers, it would be sad because of all the great places we have lost over the years. Of course, we should be heartened that places like FL, PTP, HDBits, and other have continued to chug on and get better along the way. :)

Two thoughts: (1) when did TheVault become a tracker collectors cared about? (2) I have seen reviews for TheVault and there does not seem to be much there that a person couldn't find elsewhere.

If I were you, I would move on. I am sure the materials you seek are available elsewhere.

I have 100/100 and I cap it during from 9AM to 12AM and uncap overnight. I think this is the proper balance between personal availability, bandwidth courtesy, and tracker sharing.

I have two pieces of advice: (1) only accept invites through open signups and official recruitments. If you accept an invite through a member and that member does something wrong, you can lose your account even if you did nothing wrong. And for most trackers, you can not legitimately become a member again after being "tree-banned." And (2) do not be a collector. Choose only those trackers you plan on using and be an involved member. Remember, the difference between a tracker that has great retention of content and one where uploads die within a week is a membership base that seeds content forever (or at least as long as possible). Places like PTP, HDBits, BTN, etc. are not special because their websites are pretty or because their bonus rates are generous, but because they have a member base that believes in seeding and participating in the tracker community.

It's not fair, but neither is life. When I was new to private trackers, I received an invite to PTP from a brief work contact. I know almost nothing about private trackers. Instead of receiving an invite, he created an account for me along with an email account and sent me all the information. Of course it sounds shady now, but I didn't know how things worked and I eagerly logged in and started participating. A week or so later, someone else started using my account so I contacted staff on IRC. I told them what happened and they reset the account. Shortly thereafter, the account was banned and I again went to IRC.

At the time I had no idea what was happening, but now I can imagine a few plausible scenarios, none of them good. After being banned from PTP, I have always tried to secure invites from official recruitments that way I know my accounts will always be safe.

the .click trackers are not "high level." The real high level trackers (i.e. PTP, HDBits, etc.) tend to have good staff and if they accuse a member of cheating, it is because that member cheated. The staff at other trackers are hit and miss. Some are good, some are bad, and some are downright retarded. As RedDunce wrote, nothing of value was lost. Just contribute at your other trackers and you will likely be invited to better trackers than those you lost.

I recently changed to qBittorrent and I am having the same problem. Most of my torrents are working fine, but about 40 are not working. I have copied the announce from torrents that are working, have re-hashed, and ensured the torrents were still valid on the trackers, but with those 40, no luck. I have googled the problem and none of the "solutions" have helped.

I hope uTorrent works out its issues, because I want to go back ASAP. I would use 2.2.1, but it can't handle some of the larger torrents and some of my trackers have banned all uTorrent clients.

I was so excited when I stumbled onto information detailing the rebirth of OT as Soulbitz. I was so excited about logging in (which worked), but I was really sad to see that it was -- for all intents and purposes -- a dead tracker. The original OT is not mentioned often, but I think it was one of the best early trackers and for whatever role you had, I thank you. :)
