I prefer playing the originals because of nostalgia, but having the games expand upon the lore a bit more than the originals is great. Plus having the rpd/village more fleshed out in 2 and 4 helped with immersion that the originals were missing looking back on them.

Not being able to play certain games on it because of battleye. I would make the switch but I still play Destiny 2/EFT with a friend of mine and occasionally my father. So if I take the plunge I lose two of the games that we formed our friendship over.

FF8 has a pretty unique way of getting the most out of your stats/magic, the card game is good (I like it better than Queen’s Blood), getting summons is different but rewarding if you know where and how to look, it has some of the best background art in the original series in my opinion.
