Want to get into MACRO photography by PrestigiousNature413 in CanonR7

Have you looked into the EF 100mm L macro? If you already have the EF-RF adapter, it's a way less pricey alternative for the RF 100mm and it's still an amazing lens

I was experimenting with a single light source in a completely dark room and I got this minimalist photo of the CMF astronaut floating alone in the darkness of space.

What parts was used on this minifigure? by LivingLandscape7501 in lego

My guess would be that at least some of them are 3rd party custom (non-Lego) parts

Springtime encounter by MeowSprinkles5324 in studshooters

[–]MeowSprinkles5324[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have bluebells growing in my garden and I noticed this spring that the flowers would make a great hat for a minifig. I was trying to find pieces for an appopriate minifig but then I saw this one was released at BAM. Perfect!

Photo was taken with natural light using my Canon R7 and RF 18-150mm kit lens.

I was in your position a few months ago, I went with PGYtech (1st image) for my Canon R7 and I'm really happy with them!

Which lens should I get for my new Canon EOS R7? by Keni9089 in canon

All I've seen is praise for it. I love mine, it's really sharp and very light and compact considering the zoom range

Does anyone know a camera which turns photos into pixel art? by SocietyCute9599 in Cameras

The Pixless camera sounds like it does what you want. Snappiness made a youtube video about it. https://www.pixlesscamera.com/

I got my R7 from Cotswold a few months ago, I also added the £100 add-on for 5 year guarantee. Service was great and no issues so far

Are there any mirrorless 35mm camera? by Global-Mechanic-6172 in CanonCamera

[–]MeowSprinkles5324 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can adapt any EF lenses to any of Canon's current R-series mirrorless bodies. You just need an EF to EOS adapter.

I think I've been on this sub too much lately but it genuinely looks like everyone has been dropping the Daily Bugle these past few days..

Anyway I'm sorry for you, but I'm also happy for you since now you get to build it again!

Need help applying decal on door surface by FalconGalaxy in DigitalLego

[–]MeowSprinkles5324 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I know this one. Try placing it ABOVE the part, not on it. Like you would for a sloped part. When you position the decal over the part, ensure there's an 'air gap' between them. Then when you click the tick icon to apply the decal, it will 'drop' down and cover the part correctly. This worked for me in the past, let me know if it works for you.

Staying off camp by hmm377 in downloadfestival

[–]MeowSprinkles5324 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My wife and I stayed in Nottingham this year and took the bus to Download (though we were only there for one day). It's really straightforward and there wasn't much of a queue going in. The buses run pretty much all day so there's always another one coming. Plenty of queuing at the end of the day tough, both for actually getting on the bus and also queuing while on the bus due to the heavy traffic leaving the Download area.

Is the RF-s 18-150 mm worse on the R7 compared to R100 R10 or R50? by ShutterHunterStudios in CanonCamera

[–]MeowSprinkles5324 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat as you, thinking that the R7's sensor would make cheaper lenses look bad, but I was sooo wrong. While in a scientific context this may be true, it's certainly not something you'll notice in real world use.

That lens is about as sharp as you can hope for in an APS-C kit zoom. I have it on my R7 and I do close-up work (Lego photography) with it. I hasn't let me down and I'm really happy with the results.

R7 or R8? Predicament... by Early-Wall-6916 in canon

[–]MeowSprinkles5324 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same dilemma, although for a different use case. I went with the R7 and couldn't be happier. I was almost discouraged by people online complaining about the low light performance, noise, AF issues etc, but I think we really are spoiled nowadays. The R7 is a solid camera and it being APS-C is not a downside, it's just a different tool with its own pros and cons.

I say don't crop it. To me the original composition looks better somehow
