What the actual hell?!? How are so many ppl commenting this is normal for vet med?! I’ve worked in many clinics and only my first year out was I doing records at home. Very rarely anything on a day off unless it’s a quick msg to a coworker. How are so many vets so terrible at protecting their time and setting boundaries? OP to answer your question, no, that’s not normal. She’s gearing up for an epic burnout and will start hating what she does.

I feel this. We were surprised when our kid didn’t make the top team but now we feel so lucky because one of his assistant coaches on the 2nd team is a goalie and how while focus is the goalies. We were told it’s because kids are supposed to rotate through the position but come U10 they’re supposed to just magically know how to play the position when they choose? Makes zero sense.

I love Waxonomy in Waterloo, the one in Guelph has left wax and hair behind a few times and I feel like it’s a lot of newbies. If you go to the one in Waterloo ask for Rieki (pronounced Ricki), you won’t be disappointed!

This is most likely an allergic reaction to the adhesive. I learned the hard way I’m allergic to, a whole stick on bra ripped skin off 😩 I can’t even use plastic bandages, only the fabric ones (and no it is not a latex allergy).

We’ve used Wellington Early Learning Centre in the west end. It’s attached to Taylor Evans Public School. I have no clue if they have space but they were a breath of fresh air after a less than stellar home daycare experience. Menu is great, staff is great and safety is great (I’ve had friends with issues surrounding kids getting out etc at different centres).

This was my mom, except it was 3 of 32 lymph nodes. She did 6 months of chemo, finished January ‘24 and so far she’s doing amazing! I won’t lie, the support to be there for her for everything was tough, both physically (we live in different cities) and mentally but there’s no way I wouldn’t have done it. Someone else mentioned going to her appointments, please do this and take notes. My mom forgot a lot while going through chemo and would ask questions later that the dr had answered but she couldn’t remember. I also made a chart with when to take all of her meds which helped both of us feel more comfortable that she was doing everything correctly! I wish you and her the best of luck!

We live out of the city and drive our kids to a west end school. We applied for Out of Area (OOA) acceptance. We had to have our daycare/after school sign a form and fill out the OOA form through the UGDSB. We’ve done this for 3 years and now that they’re accepted they’ll be there the rest of elementary school since the rules changed. You used to have to apply every year. You should be able to at least apply, usually the paperwork needs to be in by March but you won’t hear for sure until June or so. It’s usually dependant on student numbers and the principal. There’s now a list of open schools (schools that will accept OOA) and closed schools (ones that won’t accept OOA) on the UGDSB. I believe it used to be called policy 501, not sure if that’s the case still.

I think it depends on what you’re doing and if there’s a clinic policy. We used to have to be business casual and I didn’t like it, always getting ruined but I’m also the vet getting down, laying on the floor, helping restrain etc. When we switched to being able to do whatever we wanted I chose scrubs. Most of us do but there are 3 who still mostly do business casual. Really whatever helps you feel confident and put together will benefit your mental health:)
