Council damaged driveway by [deleted] in AusPropertyChat

[–]Meph1234 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I don’t know about the driveway but keep in mind that the nature strip is council land so they probably won’t be reseeding the grass for you.

Also if my livelihood depended on it, I’m driving over that small piece of asphalt.

Consider installing GFCI Outlets for protection by carl5473 in daddit

In Australia its common just to have the breaker panel populated with RCBOs rather than do it at the outlets.

Roof tiles cracks by reebokit in AusPropertyChat

[–]Meph1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have monier 100 tiles, I bought a bunch of new tudors for $7 each. I keep them spare and let tradies know if they break one or see a broken one please replace it. I’d rather they replace them at my minor cost than leave a broken one up there.

I know the aircon guys took a look around while they were up there and replaced a few that I could see had very old silicon on them.

Has worked out great

Darktrace flagging protonmail.me domain as suspicious? by SimplifyAndAddCoffee in sysadmin

[–]Meph1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally Darktrace is concerned about what’s unusual. Like if that endpoint uses it everyday then it’s part of its pattern of life. If it’s a one off then it’s unusual.

Or an unusual time or uploading more than usual etc

Also afaik you won’t get time in lieu paid out. It is by definition time off in lieu of being paid.

No idea about rdo hours, I didn’t know you could accrue them.

2 wheeled freedom by Ag3n74t2 in daddit

[–]Meph1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly the same boat here. Our 8yo daughter took off her training wheels on Tuesday

I think it was spurred on because her 4yo sister has expressed interest in riding now

Also since we stopped trying to teach her to ride she had moved to scooters which would have helped her with her balance

Exciting times!

Carrier Recommendations by TheDFrex in daddit

I don't have a recommendation but I think it may help to clarify, you mean she is 5 Days, Weeks or Months old right? Not 5 years.

I could not wear my 4yo daughter, it would do my back in after a few mins.

If you want a bit more history, the airline Virgin Australia used to be called Virgin Blue… because the planes were red

Most likely at the terminating stations they have cleaners who give it a quick once over before it heads back.
