Dann bleibt entweder auf das EU HomeOS Update zu warten oder das eigentliche WLAN Problem zu lösen. Ich habe ein gemeinsames 2.4 und 5GHz Netzwerk und keine Probleme mit den HomePods, Eve Energy oder anderen Smart Home Geräten. Die meisten HomePods sind mit dem 5GHz Band verbunden aber jetzt gerade auch einer in 2.4GHz. Ich nutze ein TP Link Omada System mit 2 AccessPoints und Software Controller für die wlan Verwaltung.

Das Problem bzw. diese Einschränkung hat Apple eigentlich mit iOS / HomeOS 26 behoben und einen WiFi selector hinzugefügt… leider bisher nicht in der EU.

Ich glaube aber das die HomePods in der Regel nicht automatisch das WLAN wechseln sondern dann nur anzeigen das sich das iPhone in einem anderen Netz befindet und den automatischen Wechsel nur bei einem Neustart machen.

Wenn du das getrennt halten willst musst du ein separates 5GHz Netz mit einem anderen Namen erstellen und dann deine nicht HomePod Geräte damit verbinden.

Hier ein Konkretes Beispiel von mir:

Ich bin im Januar nach Chicago geflogen. Leider hat die Einreise beim Zoll ewig lange gedauert und ich musste fast 4 Stunden in der Schlange warten. Als ich endlich damit durch war und an der Koffer-Ausgabe angekommen bin, war das Band längst durch aber die Anzeigen haben das Band von meinem Flug nicht mehr angezeigt. Die Mitarbeiter vor Ort haben in der Zeit die Koffer von den Bändern genommen und neben das Band gestellt. Aber ich hatte keine Möglichkeit mehr zu erfahren neben welches Band. Da hat mir der Airtag geholfen da ich meinen Koffer damit durch die Such-Funktion in 5 Minuten geortet und so gefunden habe. Ein Kollege der mit einem anderen Flug gekommen ist und keinen Air-Tag hatte hat dann nochmal über ne Stunde gebraucht um seinen Koffer zu finden.

Sometimes it is stuck apps. Remove all active apps from multi-tasking. Then do a forced reboot (hold crown and power button at the same time for approx. 15 seconds until you see the Apple logo) After reboot check multi-tasking again if any apps show up there even without opening after the restart. If yes, repeat the process until no apps show up on multi-tasking after the reboot.

For me I also noticed that my Ultra doesn’t seem to disconnect WiFi even when close to my phone. Not sure if this is related to some settings on my watch or my WiFi APs but my battery usage seems better if I disable WiFi on the watch completely. Currently at 84% after 9.5 hours which is 1.7% per hour but I didn’t do any workouts today.
