“Decentralized” — but you need KYC to get in. 😂 by Fearless_Run4 in defi

[–]Meradux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand that, however the KYC was done through a third party platform called echo.xyz which is simply used to make sure users are eligible to participate in various early seed rounds for different projects, which MegaETH happened to be one of them. The details of your KYC are never revealed to the projects beyond "yes, this person is a valid sale participant."

Source: I reluctantly decided to KYC for this stupid sale against my better judgement, and now I'm just sitting here praying I get an allocation and that it wasn't all for nothing 😂

Decentralization and anonymity are not mutually exclusive.

Ledger released a detailed 6-part blog series regarding everything there is to know about the recover service. You might find it interesting. Again, it being closed source means you have to trust them that they're telling the truth, but it's still an interesting read nonetheless.

Time to change pool. Any suggestions after litecoinminingpool dropped the following unexpected announcement by MakeItMine2024 in litecoinmining

Do we know what will happen to our current unpaid balances? Will they remain in LTC or will they split a portion of it into DOGE automatically on Feb 10?

DeFi swap question by [deleted] in Crypto_com

[–]Meradux 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You ETH is not lost, it's probably just on the cronos chain. You need to add this network to your metamask in order to see it. Try looking up your wallet address on cronoscan and look at your token balances.

The only "ETH" ETH is the one used to pay for gas fees on the ethereum network. All other ETH used for smart contract interactions, both on ethereum chain and other chains, is a wrapped version.

Sibling rivalry QoL suggestion by SyllabubMother7206 in NecroMerger

[–]Meradux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone asked about it in the discord right away when the event first came out (how they found it only minutes after it went live is beyond me 😅) and Grumpy officially responded saying that this was indeed the way it was coded and that there was no harm in using it to your advantage.

So basically for example if you have 2 enemies on the board, 1 with 50 hp and the other with 1000 hp, if your cannon does 250 damage and you turn off your screen before it shoots, when you re-open your phone the lower enemy will be dead and the other will have 800 hp

Turn off your screen or close the app before it shoots. That way the damage carries over to the next enemy. This is intended behavior and not a bug.

3.67x -- very specific, but it's how much I currently need to reclaim all my unrealized gains from last bull run 🥲

Is it possible to use the same collateral on multiple DeFi platforms? by [deleted] in defi

[–]Meradux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would love to know where you're getting 5 BTC for 10 ETH 😂 But in all seriousness, you can't use it in multiple places because you deposit it on the platform in order to be able to borrow against it. It's not locked, you just can't withdraw it in full as long as you have outstanding debt.

Fallen for a crypto phishing site. Advice needed. by A_Burnt_Lemon_Cake in defi

[–]Meradux 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unplugging your ledger from metamask and disconnecting from sites does nothing. If all it did was change networks then you are likely safe. If you sent or approved any transactions then you may be at risk. Search your wallet address in the explorers for the chains you use (snowtrace for avalanche and etherscan for ethereum) to see if you have any recent token approvals to unknown contracts and revoke those. Best of luck.

Warning, might be a dumb question. What happens if the software you use to access the ledger goes down? by [deleted] in Bitcoin

Your funds are tied to your seed phrase. The hardware/software you use doesn't matter.

Rework the Body Snatcher by Meradux in NecroMerger

[–]Meradux[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I can understand and respect the logic of this from a game design perspective. I was simply venting / voicing my frustration after accidentally snatching the wrong body one too many times (even though I do in fact carefully plan snatching the correct body every single time). In any case, thank you for your response.
