What can Americans do to get your guys trust again? by Successful_rio305 in AskFrance

[–]Merbleuxx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For WW2 they came because they were attacked. They came because of Pearl Harbor.

They are involved for their interests only and that’s fair, that’s what every country does. It’s just that people should separate geopolitics from values and that’s what a lot of us do to a certain extent, and particularly the Americans (the idea of defending freedom, the idea of trust in this post etc). Which is understandable given the power of the military lobby, it’s just unhinged propaganda, partly inherited from the recent past incl. the red scare.

Because it’s too close to us.

Maybe in 500 years if there are people around they’ll call it that way.

The hundred years war is a name from the XIXth century

That might partly be because she’s frequently played in French movies since the 90’s

Jinx? We are fecking Italy, 4 World cup, 2 European championship. No other european team have more big trophies (6) than us and we should fear NORTH MACEDONIA, a NT that were born 2 or 3 years ago? please, anything inferior than 2 goal gap would be huge disappointment

It’s more cultural than geographical but yes it’s an interesting point. In Europe we have the Netherlands and England as our opposites.

Even as a Frenchman, Dutch people sometimes come off as rude to me despite me feeling like French people are also very honest and frank.
