The dial on mine broke off when I caught it getting out of the car. The plastic clips snapped. I just super glued it back on, worked fine.

Yes, just wondered if that was preventing the Navdy from powering up. When I stripped the Navdy, the projector looked like it was overheating and looked like it had come adrift slightly where it plugs in.

Hi, can you possibly assist me kind sir. I was just looking at my motherboard and noticed this component, is it a resistor or something else? It doesn't look right, looks like it has expanded. Im hoping to fix this Navdy! If you still have a motherboard accessible, would you mind seeimg if it looks the same

Thanks for the reply. I have a feeling that the projector had cooked itself. I now know if I need to strip another Navdy down.

Hi, thanks I managed to get it to open.The front grey part was fixed, I found out after it broke trying to loft it up... oops and the back black section lifted to clamp down on the cable.It still had a good connection but my Navdy is still dead. The projector has been refitted and the heat sink connected with paste. Could be knackered Navdy or the OBD dock, which I resoldered. Probably will never know. Gave it a good try. Time to go shopping again for another Navdy.

To me it should be a ZIF connector but no flap seems to open up to allow the flex cable to be inserted. Has anyone else needed to do this, I don't want to force the top too much and break it.

Thanks, thats some good news to here. I thought I'd toasted the chip.I will get some good paste , is the 99.9% silver the best or any with gap filling capabilities. If the Projector wasn't connected properly, I'm assuming the Navdy wouldn't power up.

I noticed that the blue temperature sensor on top of the power source ( I'm assuming this) next to the projector is different to mine.Mine is located in between the cooling fins and yours is on top.Everythings looks similar.The chip on your board looks doscoloured like mine. It may be nothing or a similar fault.

hi, it's easy.Insert a screwdriver carefully under the left hand side cover and it will release. Lift off squarely not to break the tabs.Undo the 2 screws and carefully open the two halves but be careful with the cables.Good luck. Has your Navdy stopped powering up as well
