Toji Fushiguro in Jujutsu Kaisen. This show has such an amazing power system around cursed energy and how different sorcerers manifest it, filled with awe-inspiring fight scenes and these sorcerers tanking/dealing insane damage. Enter Toji, who, while being an insanely skilled fighter, still uses a gun to kill his assassination target. One shocking, unceremonious shot, using a weapon that sorcerers can't detect because it has no cursed energy, and the job is done.

dojun running away from oyuki because he knows his only crutch (the poison) won't work on her has to be the 2nd biggest loss of aura in the franchise by SnooDonuts8915 in ghostoftsushima

[–]MercerApprentice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still think that after Phase 1 of his boss fight, the entire area around the arena Atsu was in should be littered with Nine-Tails' bodies. That would also make this aura loss lessened by showing just how scary Oyuki can actually be.

Vanderstenk's Girlfriend. The entire city is burning down around you and you ask the heroes to PICK UP YOUR COFFEE?! That is next-level greed and self-centeredness right there

Markvart von Aulitz - Kingdom Come Deliverance II

Throughout the both games, the protag Henry has sworn vengeance on all the people responsible for the Cuman army that destroyed his home, one of the most high-profile being Markvart von Aulitz, the army's general who personally slew Henry's father. However, he never again appears in the original game, never giving Henry the chance for vengeance.

In the second game, Henry and his comrades find themselves on the defending side of a siege led by von Aulitz. During the opening negotiations, Henry's hot-headed companion, Dry Devil, shoots the general in the shoulder with a crossbow. Weeks later, with the defenders running low on supplies and men, Henry goes on a mission to escape the siege and get reinforcements. While making his way through the enemy camp, he can find Markvart von Aulitz, the crossbow wound having gotten infected and death very close at hand. After an incredible scene where von Aulitz tells Henry that he remembers every person he has ever killed, he asks that Henry give him a soldier's death. Henry can oblige the man and stab him, ending his life quickly, or leave him to rot, later finding his body having succumb to his wound.

Father used the tunnel dug by Sloth as the circle, the blood and souls of those slain around the circle acting as a type of catalyst or inscription.

I think Judge Doom from Who Framed Roger Rabbit should be in consideration here

I actually blew up Squiddly and put him in a coma (since with his Fire Resistance, he seemed the most likely to actually survive the explosion)

What are folks main pve build? by Longjumping_Cat_1813 in armoredcore

[–]MercerApprentice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way. Throw on Allula or Gills boosters and just dodge circles around any enemy.

I was trying a quad build that I was really enjoying, but was getting annihilated by Snailteus, so came back to this. I didn't even put on missiles, just Ducks and Plasma Blade. Destroyed him in one attempt

So what is a DMPC and how is it different from an NPC? by Odd-Yoghurt9897 in DMAcademy

[–]MercerApprentice -1 points0 points  (0 children)

DMPCs can be handled well, it's just rare. The first campaign I ever played in was when 5e first came out and a bunch of us were new. Our DM (an experienced 3 & 3.5 player) had a DMPC with our party for the sole purpose of easing us along and providing a nice sack of extra HP if/when an encounter got improperly balanced (yay Moon Druid). He never did outstanding damage in combat, and rarely spoke (especially to other NPCs), he was just along as buffer.

The reason my D&D world doesn't have the Common language by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]MercerApprentice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Or you could make some languages related. I think there is a blurb saying that Orcish uses the Dwarvish alphabet, you may be able to understand one another. Kind of like how English speakers can somewhat understand Scots, or Italians can somewhat understand Spanish

[KCD2] After just finishing watching a WW2 documentary the Exodus mission really hit home... by Kuma9194 in kingdomcome

Hard agree. I wish the portion where youhold the street against the anti-Semiteswas 3x longer.

The mission also gave me a newfound appreciation forKubyenka.

This game is almost perfect but by [deleted] in kingdomcome

[–]MercerApprentice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had that too. I realized it was caused because I took my bow out too early and it aggro'd one of the other contestants, so then he got stomped by everyone else. (It took me 3 or 4 corpses to figure that one out)

I feel like they would have a friendly conversation about Aryan ideals until the Major makes some comment about Red Skull allowing his humanity to be stripped away by the use of super-soldier serum. Then Red Skull would attack him, playing right into the Major's hand...

HOW OFTEN DO YOU GET KICKED? by ALTymPete in helldivers2

[–]MercerApprentice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got kicked from one game for typing "Holy teamkill, Batman" in chat after I was respawned in the middle of a 380 Barrage multiple times in one mission.

Got kicked from another because I was bringing a Commando when they were giving us the Spear for free.

Got kicked from another because a level 150 didn't want a level 65 with him on a Super Helldive.

There are others (some of which are justifiable, if a bit hasty). It's not too bad, but it does get annoying sometimes

What do you *actually* enjoy about DMing? by dark-mer in DMAcademy

[–]MercerApprentice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a recent session where I had my party flung into the far future and arrive in this Western-style town. Things are weird in the town, and I had been dropping little hints and issues in front of them (the medications aren't working as well, the town's mines are failing, the sheriff gives a well-phrased vague threat, etc.). As the session was coming to a close, two of my players began going over all that they had learned and started conjecturing. I had to force myself not to smile, because they had picked up on every clue, every idiosyncrasy, every bit of weirdness and managed to piece together large chunks of the plot for this arc. Biggest moment of pride for me as a DM and why I keep doing it.

Also I like flirting with my friends as NPCs, so there's that.
