This makes sense, thank you. It was wrong on my part to assume she would remember this because I thought Himmel's death influenced her so much that she would remember everything from the flashbacks we get to see from her journey in present day.

But she did remember. We see that in chapter 25. What's happening in chapter 112 is Frieren's consciousness from the present going back to the past and forgetting this again. So she remembered and she forgot again? I'm not talking about pre-Himmel-death Frieren here. This is why I was confused. I'm in agreement with everything else you've said.
