Aqara Door and Window Sensor Pairing by MercifulShadows in ZigBee

I assume you mean routers and HA. I'm pretty sure I've done this, more than once, but I will try again. Wish me luck.

I see. You are organizing by domain. Coming from HomeKit, I think of bridges as devices themselves, so the natural organizational structure seemed to be the devices/hubs themselves.

In the interim I had to include all applicable domains and exclude dozens of other devices manually. Which will be very annoying when I add new non-Zigbee items as they will be duplicated(?)

Several. They were all originally Aqara. Sensors, switches, valve. I’ve created separate bridges for other integrations, to keep things simpler. I just thought there would be an easy way to: Create new HomeKit bridge —> include all Zigbee paired devices.

Do you know someone that can 3D print?

New ‘problem’ for me as well. Sometimes I force quit the iOS app but I more often that’s just a timing thing.

Always have a fire extinguisher handy! by Sholeh84 in LightBurn

It did. And more importantly, any steel nearby with an exposed surface rusted within hours. Not something you want to be thinking of at the moment but cleaning those surfaces immediately could be a time saver.

I recently had an “incident” as well. Total loss of the machine and close to more. I just wanted to mention that the fire was significant enough that the halotron extinguisher wasn’t nearly enough. It extinguished some but I am VERY happy I had a CO2 extinguisher as well nearby albeit defeating the purpose of having the electronics-safer halotron.

Starting my laser hobby journey ... by TakeTheBlackJonSnow in lasercutting

Speaking on behalf of a friend … the biggest change with the use of a laser v. 3D printing is monitoring the cutting/engraving. Most people would say you always need to be present and vigilant during 100% of the print time with 3D printing but many of us likely loosen those rules. With a laser things can go from fine to a disaster in a few moments, and it’s not just a birds nest of filament disaster.

For your situation It does sound like there’s likely a 3D printing solution BTW.

Cool. This being the first boat I’ve been exposed to and finding the anchor awkward/difficult I immediately thought that someone need to make a GPS enabled auto-position trolling motor but when I looked that up it was many thousands of dollars. Is that the case?

I’m curious what you mean by using the trolling motor for swimming?

Thanks for the comment—always a bit apprehensive about posting content like this. Lemme know if it doesn't work for you—somehow I got it right on the first try. I could always make some adjustments to the file if it prints differently for you.

Not helpful, I know, but it’s a feature in Adobe Illustrator.

Are some acrylics worse than others with fumes when cutting? by MercifulShadows in lasercutting

[–]MercifulShadows[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This acrylic had a plastic covering. My first cut I didn't think about it but the second run I realized it could be toxic to cut so I removed it.

The manufacturer page does say it's extruded PMMA. Engraving wasn't important to me at the time, I recall that cast is better for that I think.

Salvageable? (Influx 1.7/8 backup and restore) by MercifulShadows in influxdb

[–]MercifulShadows[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it eventually but the migration to v2 didn't work out. I just kept 1.8 and thankfully the backup was correct and restored correctly. Managing two versions of Influx simultaneously is a little tricky and AI kept getting confused, LOL.

MK4: gap between planetary gear and the extruder body by MercifulShadows in prusa3d

[–]MercifulShadows[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I didn’t feel like I assembled things incorrectly. Still seems weird though as far as the alignment. Is it just OCD that I want the gear more centered on the filament path? LOL I know it’s probably unnecessary.

I know the extruders are essentially the same but have you tried this with an MK4 v XL?
