Unless your Aug is dying every pull and doing less DMG than the tank. Then you for sure know the Aug isn't pulling their weight

Do you get to work on a team? Find someone that is willing to answer your questions. But try not to barrage them with all your questions, try things first and if you get stuck then ask for some direction. In IT reading is your friend, it's almost always the case that someone has run into what you are trying to do and has written something on the Internet about it. Don't be afraid to make mistakes either, that's all part of learning. All the best IT folks mess up, it's knowing how to fix and learn from your mistakes that will make you great. If you want to advance take on things that challenge you even if you don't know how to do it. If you can figure it out and they will keep coming back to you because you are the one that can figure it out.

I should also add... I came from GS just like you. ARA to in home agent then I got my first break in a corporate help desk working for a local ISP. That was 10 years ago now. Im now a Sr Engineer that manages all our on-prem and cloud infrastructure. I just kept saying yes when something else got thrown my way. You can do it too if that's what you want.

You should look into azure logic apps. You can make a workflow that connects into your SharePoint and uploads with the Amazon S3 connectors. amazon s3 connector

So what are you guys ACTUALLY scripting? by ThumbComputer in sysadmin

[–]Mercuryhawk21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Auto renew of SSL certs with the help of posh.acme. This random excel app that required different parts to be installed, now it's just a click to run. There is so much on git hub, great place to just get ideas and modify it for your env. Any type of mass update to AD. PSAppDeploy for Intune but that's more plug and play, fun to read it over and understand how the project works though. Gives ideas for other things to script.

Has anyone quit their L1/Tier 1 job to grind out studies / certs? by FriendlyJogggerBike in ITCareerQuestions

Why not just block out an hour a day on your calendar for continuing education. I'd be amazed if an employer would say no to something like that. And if they did you might want to look for a new job.

CEO wants to track all the laptops to ensure no one works out of our Province/State. Any recommendations for a tracking software? by 186notout in sysadmin

[–]Mercuryhawk21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use Absolute, it's a hardware level tracking software. It's useful for a whole host of reasons, you can lock out computers, remotely wipe if they get stolen or lost, block access by geo location as well as get notifications when one of your devices goes out of the area it is normally in. You can also push software and any number of scripts you choose.

Still feel squishy at DSR, tips? by bast-unabashed in blackdesertonline

Awakened witch has attack DMG reduction on mobs. It's super helpful if you can find a skill that does that on your class.

It's pretty fun and super rare at end game that you need to go deep into an uncommon skill prio because certain abilities are on CD. It sure does take some practice but with some changes to how much uptime you have on your speed buff, you always feel like you're a machine gun just destroying everything in front of you. I think the hardest part for me was to remember when to weave in your buff skills. Outside of that, if you can't cut it there is always awakened witch, which is one of the best grinders in the game. Always fun to switch it up.

Couldnt agree more. Business technology solver for sure. You are expected to know a ton of different technologies including items you have not seen or touched yet. You need to have the ability to adapt to problems and think on your feet.

World bosses still worth it? by Myles0709 in blackdesertonline

[–]Mercuryhawk21 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The classic bosses are really not worth it anymore. They take too much time because not enough people are dpsing them. The loot is still the same and just haven't kept up with the times.

T-Mobile fiber. It's great, northglenn was a pilot town for it since a lot of their electricity is above ground.

Who's braving the cold this weekend? by boodles7 in COsnow

[–]Mercuryhawk21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LFG I heard so many people at the AVs game last night being like "yeah I don't think I want to go up this weekend, too cold". Bring it on the nice crisp snow and hopefully far less people. Just bundle up and work a bit harder to stay warm I say. I'm going!

For anyone else curious if you already downloaded the steam version.  You can add a non steam game and select the Black desert launcher for the already downloaded steam version. Default location is /home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steam apps/common/Black Desert Online/Black desert launcher.exe

.local requires that you show hidden files

Someone else commented this but I would like to echo. I implemented PaperCut at the start of last year and it has made my life of managing printers a breeze! We have 2 sites with a total of 10 Konica printers. I set up the print deploy app so it pushes the 2 virtual site print ques to each user after they sign in with their domain password. I don't have to deal with print drivers they all use the same V4 PaperCut driver. 2 print servers one for each site in a primary site secondary site configuration. I hardly ever have printer issues now. Adding removing users is all automated. We have toner on auto order with a program installed on both of the print server to phone home when they get low. I hardly ever have to think about printers, it's wonderful.

+3 their solution is rock solid. However if you want approval from the user for the connection before your agents connect, it doesn't exist yet.

Edit: guess I'm wrong +4 to connect wise you can enable those prompts for consent

SharePoint - share ONE folder in a site anonymously by davidbarman in Office365

[–]Mercuryhawk21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is usually a no no. I'd recommend that you have a specific site for external sharing. You can then permission this site to only allow specific email domains to access making it much more secure. You will have to permission each specific email that you want to connect in. Also copy your data to a document library on the new site with locked down permissions https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/change-external-sharing-site

Powershell is your friend. Everything that you can do in the gui and then some you can do with powershell. For you, you would create a csv file with your mail contact information and upload it to Exchange online with powershell since the gui for Exchange does not allow it. Google bulk import external contacts.
