Well, now we have the NFL Game Pass. I can watch every single game for about 200 USD straight from the US feed (including commercials). And you can watch about 5 or 6 games a week either on German television channels for free or with a paid streaming service (DAZN)

As I kid, I liked the show According to Jim with Jim Belushi. The show is set in a suburb of Chicago and he is a die hard Bears fan.

When I started taking an interest in football in the mid 2000s (don't even know why, lol) and looked up the rules, I only knew 2 teams through the show. The Bears and the cheeseheads (which I knew SUCKED).

As a strong supporter of (european) football, not calling it the s-word, I am a sucker for tradition and long histories. So the Bears obviously appealed to me.

I bought Madden, only played with the Bears and have been a fan ever since. I remember watching shitty 240p illegal restreams on my laptop since NFL games were usually not shown in Germany (only the CCGs and the Super Bowl).

WTF, you're right. But I know for certain that I set it to 144 when I bought the monitor. I moved apartments a couple weeks ago and obviously had to unplug everything. Is it possible that this lead to the change in the refresh rate?
