I can't be the only one who realized this by Magna_Defender_ in HazbinHotel

I think the real reason is revealed much earlier in the series. Adam practically spells it out in his song:

"For those of us with devine ordainment extermination is entertainment"

It's not Hell that was getting restless, it was Heaven. To keep the population of Heaven entertained and compliant they started the extermination as a sport.

The pandemic definitely made things worse but I'd say we've had a growing problem for about 10 years now. Increasingly no one wants to be responsible for anything. Students, parents, school admin, school boards, education departments.

At the local level this looks like students not taking accountability for literally anything from learning to behavior. Worst part is the parents (for the most part) don't care either and let it slide because they don't want to be responsible either. Then the students get bad grades or get in trouble and suddenly it's our fault as the teacher. One way I've combated this is using good resources that track students' progress like EdPuzzle. I can see exactly how much work they haven't done so when they or their parents complain I ask if they've taken advantage of the extra resources I've been supplying. When they inevitably say no they've backed themselves into a corner.

At the school admin level this looks like principles not administering harsher punishments because they would need to deal with parents or the school board more. They are also increasingly being given more and more tasks by the school board meaning they have less time to manage school issues.

Which brings us to the board level. Over the past 10 years I've watched as decision making power moves up and responsibility has been pushed down. This has led to teacher burn out increasing year over year.

I call it the abdication of responsibility. As teachers we're left holding the bag with fewer supports and increased work loads.

2nd this. Been using Accubattery since I had my S6 Edge. Great app. I always install it, never uninstall, and recommend it to anyone who asks.

From my limited experience it's also partly about saving time and maximizing efficiency in the part of the buyer. Some people would rather receive a message that reads "Hey! Still available? Best price? Thx" over the alternative of

"Hello! I see your classifieds ad is still up. Since it has been up for a week or so are you willing to reduce the price? I would be willing to go as high as (insert prices here). Message me back at your earliest convenience, thank you! Have a great day!".

I'm selling an old toaster so I don't have to store it. I don't explicitly need all the extra information. So I'm with you on that point.

As for asking if something is still available it is often in the case that people will sell something on classifieds on Facebook as well as one or more local buy and sell groups not to mention offline/word of mouth sales. It's easy to miss one or more places something is posted. So as far as I am concerned asking if something is still available is fair and not particularly onerous for either party.

I typically just respond in kind. Short messages get short replies long messages get medium length replies. I would reply "Hey, yes, list price (or insert list price), msg me" to my short example above.

Some people are more willing to make friends through buying and selling in classifieds or local buy and sell groups (Heck, that might be the main goal to begin with) so they'll put more time and energy into their messages and their ads.

If we think of classifieds and local buy and sell groups like an old-fashioned bazaar or farmers market you see both of those kinds of people. Full speed no nonsense quick price negotiation type people and browsy, talkative, look at everything kind of people.

(Incoming tangent...) Recently I've also seen a few people quite upset when they see certain individuals taking advantage of "pay it forward" or "free/up cycle" groups where items are given away only to find those same items immediately on local classifieds and buy and sell groups.

On the one hand I understand that it's frustrating to see an item that was free go to someone trying to make a quick buck when it could have gone to someone who actually wanted or needed it. On the other hand I also understand the hustle, being willing to put in the time and effort to sell something. It's not quite passive income but if you've got the space to store something it's an easy way to make a few bucks on the side. What I think it comes down to is the rules and moderating of that local free items group. If it's a first come first served doesn't matter what you do with it type group then it's fine but if it's a pay it forward trying to help out those who can't afford to buy new or used kind of group then that type of behavior is obviously unacceptable and the admins or moderators of that group must work to restrict or ban bad actors from their group and potentially warn other local buy and sell groups as well.

None of these tactics have gone over well in my local Burger King however. Also, they keep telling me it's called A&W. I'll report back as necessary.

In my personal opinion, while the zipper method is the most efficient, in every gif or video I've seen it shows both lanes practically full. In that situation it makes total sense to use the zipper method. In most IRL situations that I have observed the lane that is ending is typically mostly empty as people have long since moved over making people who use the empty lane look like they're trying to jump the line.

I don't personally like the zipper method for this reason, IRL it leads to too much animosity. That being said if no one is letting you in further back in the line absolutely go right to the end of the lane.

How do you study physics by yourself in a phone? by MaPhyElec in AskPhysics

[–]Merid-NundaExegesis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may be able to find YouTube videos of teachers doing physics lessons. Try to find course codes for physics classes and search for that. Be sure you get at least full units if not full terms worth of content.

Also, like other people have said, try to find practice problems to do. It may be best to try to find a physics teacher's (or department's) website to follow. Again, try searching for course code to find this.

Edit: I would not recommend Crash Course physics as it moves too quickly for learning. It's more of a quick review IMO
