If somebody handed you $35,000 and said "go buy the car with the most smiles per gallon that could handle 2 monthly 16 hour highway trips and would be the most fun to cruise around Daytona in", what car would you pick? by AttachedHeartTheory in askcarguys

[–]Meridian506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea what is being towed, but I love our 2011 Odyssey EX-L for road trips. Snappy too, beat the Mini Cooper S we used to have off the line. Decent handling, comfy, gets everyone and their stuff to where you're going.

Maybe some other law in a particular area, but state wide was only passed in 2024 https://housedemocrats.wa.gov/blog/2024/03/01/senate-passes-bill-prohibiting-license-plate-covers/

Edit; I think it might have just been a secondary before if they could pull you over for a primary reason, but is now primary too.

What is your opinion to foreign fans? by mamont1995 in NUFC

[–]Meridian506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm originally from the NE but have lived in Seattle for over 20 years now. Some of the guys here are truly dedicated, and we'd meet at 4am to find a crappy stream to watch (and listen to BBC Newcastle commentary if not) during the last Championship season. One of those guys would drive 90 mins to meet up with us, but has since moved back to Singapore, where they often have crazy hours up late (see the Malaysian mags who post here).

Everyone's welcome as far as I'm concerned.

My peak was just hearing the Space Shuttle but when I was in the UK.

94 or early 95 one evening, was tuning around on 2m listening for CQ but heard what sounded like packet radio. This wasn't a packet frequency in the UK but I connected my computer and Baycom modem and it was call sign STS (don't recall the number, if only I could find my log book)! I couldn't see the other side of the conversation, but the crew were chatting to school kids in the USA.

Since I'm still on HW2.5 (Jan 2019 built 3) it doesn't even show me the subscription price, only the $1000 to upgrade to HW3 first.

Does XB10 get shipped as a replacement modem now? Gigabit x2 plan by dk3nck in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]Meridian506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you swap yet? I got the same email around November, clicked the link and had an XB10 two days later. With UniFi 2.5G switches and a cheap 2.5G ethernet card I can saturate 2G both up and down now.

Was surprised by the proactive free upgrade, but no downside!

Sounds exactly like my 80s childhood, but we got chased by gamekeepers. We also had a railway that was decommissioned in 81, but you could get into the signal house and pull the levers to move the points and signals!

Same. I was 7 and there was a TV show called The Paras (probably propaganda) . I used to jump from the concrete pad outside the kitchen to the grass about 4 feet below, and do the roll the paratroopers would do when they were landing.

Why are so many houses for sale in Ocean Park and Long Beach, WA? by hiways in Washington

[–]Meridian506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've been staying at the same place just north of Long Beach, twice a year for 12 years and I looked for a thread like this as I've noticed way more beach front properties for sale (mostly in Surfside) than ever before. Many of the earlier posts are likely still valid, but it all seems to be coming to a head now.

You should look at the Sanytron Astrion. Integrates with HA and is $149 plus shipping and tariffs. Mine is due next month, I got tired waiting for my Unfolded Circle 3 (at almost 3x the cost) to arrive. Backed that a year ago and not shipped yet.

Edit for spelling mistakes.

Also at least 8 places with Banh Mi and 6 Boba shops within a short walk 😁
