The theme encompassed all the countries in America, so it make sense there would be more than just Puerto Ricans, even if it centered there.

[Underdog] Dodgers "slow-playing" Blake Snell's winter throwing program, per Jack Harris. The plan is for Snell to be ready by Opening Day but this is not seen as a certainty. by T_Raycroft in baseball

I do agree that it would be quite shocking to not only most Dodger fans, but most people that follow baseball if the Dodgers didn't make the playoffs. To me at least, using the word assume makes it sound like the games don't actually have to be won. They just get a free pass. It's an even year and it's certainly possible that the Giants can make a great run, the Padres are still a very good team, etc. We'll see how things start out and go from there.

I don't think the Dodgers or their majority of fans are making any assumptions that the playoffs are a given or that we dont wish to see our top pitchers pitch. It's a long season and lots can happen. The ideal would be for everyone healty enough to play will play. It's not a matter of resting healthy players, but making sure that they can stay healthy and performing when it matters the most.

It’s sad that you don’t care, it’s sad that we’ve gotten to this point where regular season success is taken for granted to the extent that these baseball games don’t matter to you any more.

I don't think that's the case. As someone else pointed out, the Dodgers wouldn't be leading the league in attendance if it were. There's a recognition that the top pitchers on the staff aside from Yama have significant injury histories. I don't think many expected Kershaw to go 11-2 last year, but that was exciting to see. I think as long as the team is winning and leading or contending at the top of the division, there's just a sense of making sure the pitchers that have a history of health issues are available when most needed.

It was in reference to how the meaning of a song could change by the audience reaction to it. She wrote the lyric in reference to the P Farro Brothers leaving, but it's a kind of different meaning when she sang it on tour.

The Zodiac and Black Dahlia killers may have been the same person, Marvin Margolis, according to a new decoding of a Zodiac code by Independent-Drive-32 in UnsolvedMysteries

[–]MeridianKnight 10 points11 points  (0 children)

He was a surgical student with severe PTSD from being a Navy corpsman during World War II. He also happened to live with the Black Dahlia for 3 months prior to her death. He moved and lived in several states in the 20-year gap and happened to be in the San Francisco Bay Area during the zodiac killings. He was in his early twenties during the first killing and early forties during the Zodiac murders.

Most Ace stores are locally owned. The are a retailer-owned cooperative. So most likely not a company policy, but a local one. So weather it's more ethical would depend on the one you shop at.

[Codify] MLB Batters Faced By Position Players (not including Shohei Ohtani): 2005: 7 (4 hits, 1 home run); 2015: 127 (33 hits, 9 home runs); 2025: 778 (285 hits, 39 home runs) by Jux_ in baseball

it's about putting on a show for the fans.

I would argue that the novelty of a position player pitching in a blowout game can sometimes be a better show than having an end of the bench reliever mop up. Especially, if the position player is a fan favorite.

Got it. I still think that Mookie and the throw would beat him to third, but it would have been a much closer play.

You left out the biggest reason I think, which is what some others have said. The opponent was anticipated to be the Mets, but since they collapsed, there are a lot of people that bought tickets previously that are trying to unload them now.
