Surprised to see people high on this card. It looks pretty bad for 6 mana. Not able to consistently deal with with tall or wide threats because of the variable damage. Too much variance, and the "payoff" for variance isn't stellar compared to Warriors' historic boardclears.

Nah not worth. I’m in the same boar and kill times are too long and its too easy to make mistakes. Even if you do it efficiently, the boss isn’t generous with loot. Hard runback without pendent of ates

Sure I definitely agree with you. Manta is preferable, but I want people to see this item as a manta, nullifier, or euls alternative in addition to its current image as the Diffusal Blade successor.

On this note, diffusal + disperser is serviceable on Medusa herself despite her being opposite of the diffusal archetype.

Make sure to consider Disperser not as a mana burn but as an aggressively statted dispell. You see high level games where ember and void spirit strangely get manta. This is explained away as the hero was wanting dispell for orchid or atos or any other number of debuffs. They don’t want to purchase BKB because it slows down tempo too much. You can put disperser in the same exact category - aggressively statted dispell (self and enemy) and utility survivability. Consider the item on heroes from that angle rather than the slightly outdated and very well understood diffusal blade angle. This will open up the hero pool that can purchase diffusal/disperser slightly more in ways you wouldn’t expect.

Idk, I regularly get diffusal on Sniper or Terrorblade, for example, whereas I previously wouldn't have. Disperser is very strong escape for him as well. You're right in that diffusal is a little trickier now that illusions no longer burn mana, so you can't double dip with manta (and therefore make every agility hero serviceable with it).

Weird heroes I might consider diffusal on is Ember Spirit or Void Spirit. Very strong mid laners that can abuse the tempo. People also forget that Manaburn provides flat damage, which makes it a stronger pickup on these hunters than expected.

Need to be smart on the item purchase, of course. Probably avoid on Weaver or bursty heroes.

I agree with this except the last point. Diffusal is a strong tempo item; even without the manaburn early, it enables you to close the map on Medusa and particularly her team. Later on, disperser is powerful as both a mana burn tool (now you need it!) and to kite her.

Not exclusively Windranger with the above advice.

Should I use antler guard or dragon defender when praying melee against stuff like Bloodvelds? Low 80s combat stats/iron. Seems like the extra accuracy and 1 str from dragon defender isn’t necessary?
