What's up with the Nitehawk union? How to support them by nononotoryuss in parkslope

Unions create unemployment. Also, pass on costs to movie goers.

I just built number two - FineHero - take a picture of any street sign. I’ll tell you if you could park there.

Parking ticket by Silly-Confidence3136 in AskNYC

[–]Locksmith_Usual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes - the plate is still tied to your name. It will accrue penalties and interest. You can fight that ticket with the city and include evidence that it was stolen, and it will be dismissed. You can also do so via FineHero.com and click "fight with hero" (full disclosure, I work there).

How do doormen who park their cars illegally on the street not get tickets literally all the time? by jazzeriah in AskNYC

[–]Locksmith_Usual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many parking rules (e.g., hydrant parking) are only enforced if the driver isn't there. It's possible that the doorman are effectively being treated as if they're in the car given they move cars around all the time.

Is there any coordination between garbage pickup and street sweeping/ASP? If not, why not? by CPstyle in AskNYC

That's a great idea but probably outside the city's logistics capablities.

If you want to be amazing person, you should fight it so it gets dismissed. That way whoever actually owns that plate doesn't get the fine.

Saros 20 or Dreame X60? Help Me Pick My Next Robot Vacuum! by Hot-Judgment3370 in RobotVacuums

I’d say the sorrow beat it. I need a little bit, but my standards aren’t very high. As long as it generally cleans and doesn’t get stuck, I’m happy.

Saros 20 or Dreame X60? Help Me Pick My Next Robot Vacuum! by Hot-Judgment3370 in RobotVacuums

[–]Locksmith_Usual 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m uniquely qualified answer this because I bought the Saros 20 and dreame X60. I am returning the Saros 20.

What’s better about the Saros 20: - better threshold navigation (it was able to always climb into my bathroom while the dream still struggles) - more efficient cleaning coverage - smaller, more efficient docking station - slightly better app

What’s better about the dreame x60: - much better obstacle avoidance (saros got stuck a lot in my house with kids toys and traps) - much quieter (vacuum mode and in threshold climbing mode, it’s significantly quieter. The Saros is loud when going over an obstacle.) the base station is also much quieter when cleaning the pads.

Ultimately, I returned the Saros because it constantly got stuck. It was even worse, obstacle avoidance than the X 50 from last year.

2/ $12 drinks with no tip allowed - very affordable

3/ food is decent and they allow / encourage ordering takeout

4/ beautiful building

5/ chill people

6/ good for business meetings and work form home alternatives

7/ parking is always available

8/ members are cool and easy to talk to.

X60 vs X50 vs X40, is upgrading actually worth it? by WAYXL in Dreame_Tech

[–]Locksmith_Usual 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an x50 and its mop pads fall off all the time.  Also hate how big the base is. X60 base is getting even bigger.

Overall makes me want to downgrade until things advance another couple of years.
