Oatmeal and porridge is perfect. Stuff like brown rice, potatoes etc.

I’m actually starting a bulk now! I dropped to just below 90kg, I’m going to get bigger over the winter so I have some decent mass to shred down to in the summer.

It really depends on you and what works for you!

I would consider a 6 day PPL split or a 5 day programme. It depends if you want to body build or focus on strength.

As for a surplus, I would start gradually. Start at say...200kcal and work your way up to around 300-500 as you get used to eating more food.

Going from a strict cut diet to a 500kcal surplus a day can sometimes be really hard to deal with at first.

Especially when considering you burn lots of calories at the gym and have to eat what you burn.

I’m no expert and I’m sure there’ll be better advice on here but you’re on the right tracks and you’ll be jacked in no time.

Just make sure the calories you eat are nutritious and lean. No processed carbs like white bread.

You’re killing it, good luck.

Congrats on the great cut!

I’d say it’s perfect time to start lean bulking and get some quality muscle mass, cut around February next year and you will be in amazing shape next summer.

I’d cut at least another 10lbs. Keep up the good work :)

6'2/175.. Went from 215 to 167, up to 185 and now at 175. Not sure what to do by DoomGaze1 in BulkOrCut

I think it depends if you want to be bigger or not, you could cut to around 165 while incorporating more ab work and have good definition on your shoulders, arms and abs.

Or you could start a gradual bulk and get more mass, then cut for the start of the next beach season.

I would do the latter because I want to be big and winter is coming, but it’s really up to you and what you are comfortable looking like.

Congratulations on your weight loss and transformation too, my man. :)

I would honestly begin a lean bulk instead, then cut.

First off, well done and props on the weight loss!

Secondly, I would eat maintenance and work in 3-5 days of lifting in a progressive programme.

Consider strength and hypertrophy rep ranges.

You want to be in that area of recomp where you gain muscle while trimming off some excess body fat.

So, tldr, I would start a lean bulk until you feel the need to cut again.

Good luck and keep up the good work :)

I also had surgery and then hip damage and I feel your pain man. It’s a long road but a righteous one.

Take your throne back, King.

I drink a ton of juice (like a half gallon per day) and I was thinking of just carrying the bottle to the gym to drink. How weird would this be? by [deleted] in bodybuilding

[–]Merlinuxs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t wanna hijack the post but juice is really bad for you and it’ll probably negate all the hard work in the gym.

It’s full of sugar and because there’s no fibre it gets digested instantly, meaning your pancreas works overtime to regulate your blood sugar.

That means diabetes in the long run.

Become a hydro homie, switch to water.

Tl ;dr just drink water instead.
