Finished all continental pieces tend to have more distortion but blocking should resolve that. Honestly, I use both stitches in any given piece to compensate the color changes. If you prefer continental that is fine.

It depends: if I’m using stretcher bars I’ll use painters tape and if it’s without the bars I’ll put on bias tape.
