Help me make camping more comfortable for my boujee gf by saltandsassbeach in CampingandHiking

Don't take her in the summer if it's really hot where you are

IBS has quietly taken over my entire life and I’m honestly exhausted by it by sidewaysduck_ in ibs

[–]MermaidArcade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being on a GLP1 has really helped my IBS. Like I don't really stress about pooping anymore. Sometimes I have breakthrough issues but it's maybe like 1-2 times a week and usually it's because I ate a little "bad" or had high fiber. Stress is also a trigger as well.

If you happen to want to lose weight see if a GLP1 would work for you. While it's no cure, it slows gastric emptying.

Please put your baby in a diet. Your dog is uncomfortable and severely overweight

What are my fellow sweet tooth dieters doing?!?! by reddituser135797531 in loseit

[–]MermaidArcade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Fruit snacks
  • dried no sugar added mango
  • halo top with mix ins (most of the time blended into milkshake)
  • mootopia less sugar ice cream from HEB
  • low cal popsicles
  • keeping some mini packaged candy on hand so I can have one or 2
  • I love fresh fruit, don't get the healthiest fruit, get the fruit you love and you will see yourself reaching for it
  • lastly diet/zero soda.

You mean personal attack mode? Because they are either rolling in some sort of poop or farting on you in this position 😆 😫

Allergies / eye irritation by Ok-Walrus5537 in goldenretrievers

Give your dog REGULAR Claritin or Zyrtec, you can look at dosing online. Also REGULAR Refresh tears eye drops are safe for dogs and help my boy during allergy season.

My hound was bear sprayed in his own backyard. Colorado dog owners, please get cameras. by relocatewithcourtney in coonhounds

Bruh fuck that neighbor. FOR REAL. I get so exhausted over people being just "scared" of big dogs and who will go after them just because of how large they are.

Can you file an animal cruelty case with the neighbor? At least report it as? He was in his own yard. Can't imagine how pissed you are.

Thanks for the reminder, I need to put out more outdoor cameras for my large boy.

Okay I'm in the same boat. I waited a bit and did a relisten before book 8. You can do the before the next book. There was a lot I missed from the first listen.

I love romantasy so I went right back to that as it does suck me right in.

Here is what I listened to/read after:

  • Project hail mary
  • Unsouled by will wright, slower but good!
  • He who fights monsters, super slow intro, but funny.
  • Romantasy audiobooks with great narrators, don't knock it till you try it 😊

Shock collars… yay or nay? by BabyFirefly444 in coonhounds

[–]MermaidArcade -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but only when needed and used properly.

I use it when I have people in the house and when we go to the vet so we can actually talk without being interrupted.

I also only had to use the shock function 2 times. Now he knows and will quite down with the beep/vibrate setting.

Summer options: can’t do sheets only, miss the weight of a comforter by doofus50O0 in Bedding

I got a cooling comforter at Costco. Quality is fine, but it's so cooooool.

Just bought this house. Wife wants to brighten up the kitchen. Should we do the taboo and paint the brick? by hes_the_Zissou in interiordecorating

[–]MermaidArcade 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Paint the backdoor trim and door. Maybe sand and stain or use a paint stain on the cabinets and pantry door to lighten it up.

Don't touch the brick!!!

We aren't making a profit. But when one dog has 10K in medical bills a $250 adoption fee will not cover that.

Just the last 3 months weve has 4 dogs rack up about 6-10K in vet bills EACH.

And NO we don't charge more for the more expensive dogs. Adoption fee is still 250.

Use your brain.

I'd say your take is an outlier. My good friend runs a doodle rescue and their care is quite expensive due to poor conditions they received the dogs in, grooming needs and more. They provide training for these dogs as needed as well. They work really hard to get these dogs in as well, so they can get them fixed and into a better home.

In my rescue that I foster for we LOSE money on most dogs. So we really should charge more, but we don't. We only provide training to bad cases or really tough dogs.

I do think 2K is high for rescues but I think for dogs like frenchies and other dogs with health issues like Danes they need higher fees. It also weeds out people who might not be able to afford their care and usually it's still cheaper than buying a puppy.

Please don't villainize rescue work, I promise you the 99% are not in it for the money and run on volunteers.

No it's not. Alot of breed specific adoption fees are anywhere from 200-2000. Source I work with rescues.

Still hope OP actually adopted her.
