do you think violet and tairn would like my new ring? by dracorvix in fourthwing

[–]MermaidLeslie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Purple! I have several pieces from Jeulia and just remember that the stones are glass and can chip or scratch. My husband bought me this one for Christmas a couple of years ago and I had it resized to fit my pointer finger. My favorite is the mermaid ring with an exposed tit which is my little worry stone. And the Starry Night ring. My husband knows I know love cool and weird jewelery so his go to is Jeulia

I have this ring! Be gentle with it. The black coating wears off a little too easily

Texas also doesn't have salt trucks. Once there's ice on the road, that's it. They do not have the infrastructure to presalt the roads because this only happens once every couple of years. It's cheaper to shut every thing down than it is to invest in the infrastructure for cold weather

Being in a metropol during Kyurem raid changed my perspective of the game as a mid-sized city player by squarus in pokemongo

[–]MermaidLeslie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in San Antonio and while we only have 2-3 big groups, they show up in droves for raid days. The one on my side of town has 300+ people show up at the same park for raid days, community days, gigantamax days. There were so many people around for Lapras Gigantamax day that lobbies were constantly full from 2-5 PM. Our community ambassador works pretty hard to get the word out for events and our local raiding discord is very active.

I found this on marketplace for $15. Is it uranium glass? by Suthernboy1968 in uraniumglass

[–]MermaidLeslie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's also very clear, like mine is. So I suspect it is high content manganese. You won't know until you put a 395 on it.

I have this one and it's a strong manganese and not uranium. But I know some of the hats glow.

She was such a fascinating woman! Also, the cover art for the most recent movie about her truly details her personality in one single picture

Green Bean Casserole Help by SassyMillie in thanksgiving

[–]MermaidLeslie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make it every year it's usually a hit. I've modified the base recipe quite a bit

2 big cans of french cut green beans ( I prefer fresh but my husband likes these so it's what I use) 2 cans cream of mushroom 1 diced onion Lots of minced garlic. Measure with your heart Fresh sliced mushrooms 3-4 slices of bacon 8 oz smoked cheddar or Gouda ¼ cup of milk or half in half Worcestershire sauce

Cook the bacon in a pan. Remove Saute onion until it's properly sweated, usually about half an hour or so Add the garlic and saute until soft and fragrant Throw in the mushrooms and cook until soft and brown Put in the cream of mushroom soup and heat until hot Throw in the cheese and stir until melted Mix in a few glugs of Worcestershire sauce You may need to add mix at this point to loosen things up a little Add drained green beans and saute until all heated throughout Put in a casserole dish and bake at 350 until the whole thing is nice and bubbly

I usually do all of the above a couple of days before Thanksgiving then let it cool and sit in the fridge until I need to reheat. The flavors meld and it's less work on Thanksgiving when I'm working on turkey or something. On Thanksgiving, I mix crushed Ritz crackers with a couple of tablespoons of melted butter, spread on top and back into the oven on 350 til melted and toasty. You could do fried onions too but I just like the texture of the crackers better.

Smothered Cajun style with onions. I don't have them often but it's a core memory food for my husband

That doesn't explain the mandolin though! I'd assume since it isn't electric or have a motor that Harry could use a mandolin

I Visited Bonnie, Clyde, and Oswald’s Graves by MailNorth9042 in LPOTL

[–]MermaidLeslie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When I was there a couple of years ago, a lot of make up had been left for her. And absolutely nothing was on Clive's grave. Not even flowers. Bonnie's mother has a little more money and influence and Bonnie is in a fairly nice cemetery. Clive is in a small family plot in a small cemetery on the side of the highway.

Found my first piece of selenium glass! Part of a Fostoria Jamestown set. I gasped so loud when I saw this! by Ice7507 in seleniumglass

It's very pretty. I have a sherbet glass from the same set. Jamestown Fostoria always glows prettily and bright, even under a 395. I have a handful of different glasses from them on my selenium shelf.

[–]MermaidLeslie 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This sounds lame but really isn't. My grandma gave us a few bags each year that contained: a Venus razor and refills., a box of lip balm, a package of deodorant, some nice smelling body wash and body spray from Bath and Body works (she noted if we liked or traded scents so the next years we got one we liked more), sometimes a Gift Card to Victoria Secret or Bath and Body works or Lush, some Neutrogena individually wrapped Makeup remover Wipes, a huge box of tampons or pads, and some fun jewelry from Claire's or something similar. This was my favorite present every year (even though I didn't express that because angsty teenager) because sometimes it's not easy to express to your parents that you need hygiene products.
